@Burnsy987: Interesting point RT @xmascarr: i think there's more blame on Bledsoe (camp). His actions put Suns in a spot to get an Isaiah
This is true. Half of me dislikes Bledsoe's on the court play and the other dislikes bledsoe and his crew he hangs with. Bledsoe's off season selfish Bullsh&@& screwed this team up.

Boivin: Cardinals had foresight, and the Suns didn't
How did two of the most respected professional athletes in Arizona end up heading in such opposite directions?
Foresight. The Cardinals embraced it. The Suns lacked it.
The Cardinals' ability to secure wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald and still maintain cap flexibility says a lot about communication and transparency. Everyone knew this was coming. It is a nod to both sides that conversations were ongoing.
"We had quite a bit of dialogue this past year," general manager Steve Keim said to media at the NFL combine, adding that Fitzgerald "has a tremendous relationship with Michael Bidwill, our president and owner, so that really helped."
There weren't a lot of surprises as the season unfolded. Coach Bruce Arians has been upfront about the role he envisioned for the wide receiver. Fitzgerald may not have embraced it but he was never blindsided by it.
And sure, it helped that Fitzgerald hoped to remain with the team.
I always thought Goran Dragic, after his return to the Suns, did, too.
More important, any point guard with the talent to reach the NBA wants to be "the guy." When the Suns brought in two more, Eric Bledsoe and Isaiah Thomas, it was a recipe for failure.
As Paul Coro reported, Dragic lost trust in the organization. At this level, the lack of faith is usually irreparable. General manager Ryan McDonough has acknowledged the team's roster balance is off and blamed himself.
There's the lack of foresight.
Overall, both general managers have done tremendous jobs. The Dragic scenario, however, is not reflecting well on McDonough. How the Suns follow this up will go a long way in measuring his GM chops.

Its not often that the Cardinals one up the Suns.

Not by the moderate posters on this board, and you're better off listening to them.
I suppose the best way to quantify this is to say; assuming we offload IT and revert back to last year's style of play, i'm more than happy paying Dragic $16m per, at $17m I get uncomfortable but still probably pull the trigger, anything above that I think we're better of trading him.
From the updates I'm getting it sounds like keeping Dragic is not impossible?

Actually the cards are officially a better organization than the Suns. Cardinals own phx the way the Suns owned PHX in the 90s. Suns have a lot of catching up to do.

Fitzgerald is up there with other Arizona sports legends like Barkley, Luis Gonzalez, Randy Johnson, Steve Nash. Comparing Dragic to him is just, it does not exist. Dragic has one shining moment in this organization and that was game 3 of the 2010 series against the Spurs. To hell with Goran Dragic. I could care less about him being on the Suns. Selfish player that does not like to pass and will never play better than he did last year when he was not even an all star. People will forget about him once the Suns become a better team.

Re: Official Trade Thread: How to Trade Your Dragon
I think the issue with our fanbase was that it attempted to elevate Dragic to being a recognizable face of the franchise, to avoid accepting the reality that we sorely lack one

I bet his gold digging wife has something to do with him wanting to go to LA/NY/Miami. Dragic said in an interview one time that he and his wife knew each other all throughout their childhood and he always had a crush on her, but she never showed interest in him until he got into the NBA. Lol, she probably thinks she'll be a Real Housewife of Beverly Hills/NY/Miami.

Re: Official Trade Thread: How to Trade Your Dragon
This is great! So far the blame for Goran leaving has been put on Steve Nash, Coach Jeff, IT, Bledsoe, Bill Duffy, Zoran, Sarver, Babby, Morri, Ryan McD....am I forgetting anyone? Goran isn't happy. Ultimately it lands on his shoulders. We've got quite a mess to clean up and hopefully this opens the FO's eyes. Goran is not the end all be all even if we get nothing for him.
"Mannnnn I’m like the guy that pissed this whole board off saying literally all year no Mikal, no Mikal in the KD trade."

The Cards have decades of catching up till they get on the same level as the Suns. The last 5 years, I'll give you that.

Dragic says he loves Phoenix and he disputed all reports that he demanded a trade.
Also said that he loves the FO and has a ton of trust and faith in them. He repeatedly said that he can't wait to resign with the Suns this coming summer.
He said that the only thing that would pis him off is we stopped the 3 guard offense and gave the ball more to Goran as opposed to him being a spot up shooter which he believes is true role in the NBA.
At least that's what I got out of it

Yup. He went on to say that he absolutely loved the IT signing and feels like team chemistry has never been better

We traded Dragic and the Laker's pick back for Steve Nash. I just can't believe they let us have Nash!!
