Dave King tweet - he says not much change.
Did he see Dudley play last year. It seems like Richaun Holmes will be better than Dudley moving forward - especially with the glut of forwards on the roster. Plus Holmes might even be better than Sauce
So I disagree with the "not much change" take:

Dudley for Holmes is a huge upgrade.

Dave King is also the guy who referred to Ayton as “Joel” in Ayton’s intro presser. Can’t expect much from him.

On one hand it's a fringe roster move so its not like it gets the suns planning for a championship parade. But Holmes should play so it's not a nothing type move either. Frankly one of my complaints about McD is his work with the back end of the roster hasn't been very good so I'm happy he made a move like this because I like Holmes.

I think the end of our roster is great. Looking across the league, plenty of teams have unplayable guys sitting in the 12-15 spots. Aside from Tyson and perhaps Okobo, all of our guys can play. I even like George King (#16).

I agree I like what they have at the backend of the roster right now more than any other team McD has ran out there.
I probably should have clarified; my complaint with McD is he just hasn't had any luck finding serviceable players with late 1st rounders or 2nd rounders or UFA's. Obviously a low percentage of these guys pan out but in 5 years on a rebuilding team you would have liked to see them hit on at least one.
With that said I really think a player or two of the Okobo, Reed, Holmes, Shaq, King group might rise up and be a real player going forward.

Assuming this will be our depth chart going into the season. Ariza, Warren, and Jackson will have to takes turns at starting SF and PF throughout the season depending on matchup.
Knight/Harrison/Okobo
Booker/Daniels/Reed
Warren/Ariza/Bridges
Jackson/Chriss/Bender
Ayton/Chandler/Holmes
That's an 11 seed in the West roster in my opinion. Better than Clippers, Mavs, Kings, and Grizzlies.
Knight/Harrison/Okobo
Booker/Daniels/Reed
Warren/Ariza/Bridges
Jackson/Chriss/Bender
Ayton/Chandler/Holmes

Holmes will definitely be ahead of Chandler in the rotation. Tyson will not play much this year. He cannot keep up in an Igor motion offense. He just doesn't have the stamina.

Re: 2018 Free Agency and Trade Discussion continued
We still have Tyson and Ariza to offer as possible expirings in a trade deadline deal. That's 28.5 million there.
Dudley wasn't going to play. May as well free up a roster spot.
Holmes looks interesting. Not sold that he is a better option then Sauce or J. Okafor, but we will find out.
Looks like we are changing the culture by getting rid of a lot of guys here during the losing cycle. More new faces = new hope. While I loved Dudley and he seemed to be a great locker room guy, he didn't set the best example by letting himself get out of shape.
At the end of the day, we are still going to have a VERY young roster. I'm glad we got Booker locked up because we might be awful for another year or two.

Wonder if this is the end of Sauce in Phoenix or still waiting for other moves to transpire? Maybe just not enough roster spots around the league but he has a skill set that seems like he would make a roster

Many, many Philly fans believe that Holmes was a better player than Okafor.
Chandler is practically useless in a motion offense. He cannot move.

Anybody see Yogi Ferrell as an option after he backed out of his deal with the Mavericks?

Yeah, I saw that. Definitely a better fit for the modern NBA.

It's pretty wild the Suns spent $152M on Dudley, Chandler, and Knight. Sarver probably has nightmares about that number.

I like Yogi but unless it's a 1 year I wouldn't understand the signing. He's not really a long-term starter and while he is a good backup, we have a ton of backup caliber PGs already. There isn't a true starter available this offseason, so we probably role with Knight this year and address it at the deadline or in next FA which has a few actually good starting caliber PGs

Is Yogi any better than a guy like Canaan?
I am still holding out for the Clippers to make a move - granted, they could waive Wesley Johnson and Boban and roll with a bunch of guards!
