A's over Royals. Lester and experience will prove that he's worth the trade.

Tigers winning it all. Tigers are, imo, peaking at the right time.

TJ Warren will probably start first 2 games then might stay in that starting position like Markieff was suppose to. You never know. :) could be a good thing.

No offense but that's the most arrogant thing I have ever heard anyone say in my life. I bet if you lost someone close to you or you knew someone who passed away due to a drunk driver's idiocy, then you wouldn't be saying that.

PJ Tucker wasn't just barely drunk, he was at the extreme levels of it.

I usually like your posts Jdiddy but you absolutely blew it with this one. Driving drunk is a big f***ing deal. Get that through your damn head.

And for you to say that it could be a "good thing" because Kieff or Warren gets playing time or whatever...wow.

You must be extremely young but I hope you realize that there are things in life more important than basketball. And yes, this is one of them.

I understand you're trying to put this in the best possible light, but there is nothing good about a severely inebriated person behind the wheel of a 5000 pound car.

The problem with being THAT drunk is that there is zero chance he even was coherent enough to know not to drive. People, if they are going to go out and drink just need not to be driving in the first place. I don't know what the best solution is, but I think anyone who had one DUI, regardless, needs to have the ignition interlock. If people REALLY wanted to prevent all DUI's, it would be a good idea to put them in all cars. Obviously some might argue this infringes on people's rights, but if it was a requirement for everyone who could really argue it isn't a good idea to save lives?

DUIs are usually the worst thing that a person who gets arrested for one has ever done, and usually the only arrest they ever have. They don't realize how little it takes to be over the limit, so they believe they are okay to drive, and end up wrong. Safest to simply not drive no matter how little you have. This isn't most cases either way though--he was beyond drunk and should've known better. Somebody should've stopped him. Lots of blame to go around, but he was very clearly in no place to drive and shouldn't have had a car with him knowing he was going to party that much in the first place. Even at his relatively lower salary he can easily afford all kinds of transportation. Just have to hope he learns his lesson and it doesn't happen again. Not much more we can do as fans of a team.

If this happened in May, why is it just coming out now? Complete moron move, and I really don't understand players that make that much money (even 800k is a lot of money), who drive wasted. Taxis aren't that expensive.

How does this make you feel about the FO? Hiding this and all. I'm sorta confused on why this was hidden.

Who said the front office was hiding anything with respect to Tucker. I have only defended a few DUIs in my career, but I can say that most of the time the person's employer has no knowledge of the offense.

The One And Only Offseason Thread 4

Post#970 » by Jdiddy701 » Tue Jul 29, 2014 2:18 am

Maybe I did screw up with how i worded it so I do apologize. Don't even need to clarify what I really meant. Like I said made a mistake and didn't mean it like the crime wasn't serious meant it for the behavior for PJ in future is not a big concern.

Again, I apologize and admit a mistake on my half for my wording.

Also, I was hit by a drunk driver earlier this year in march and totaled my 2013 charger. Driver didn't have insurance. I never pressed charges. And I've never drank in my life and never plan on and wanna raise my children the same.

Again, I apologize for my wording.

Exactly. I can never understand pro athletes getting done for DUI when they can easily, EASILY pay for a cab home. It must be a pride thing...

I understood what you were trying to say. Unfortunately, sometimes things do not come out like it was intended. I do not think there is any need to apologize, we all have this happen. I filed a brief in a trial not too long ago that I was composing in the late night with voice recognition software and somehow I got a sentence in there that said the court was crazy. Fortunately the judge had a good sense of humor.

You are correct. But I think with high profile athletes, it's hard for the employer not to know. I deal with mainly military so the employer (so to say) know right away. But again you are right, employers usually don't know.

Last week, Tucker signed a three-year, $16.5 million contract ($12.7 million guaranteed) with the Suns. The Suns were aware of the charges before signing Tucker to his deal.
The Suns declined comment until the case is resolved in court.
Last season, the NBA suspended then-Brooklyn coach Jason Kidd and Dallas player Devin Ebanks for the first two games of the regular season because of their offseason DUI convictions.

Not only that, but the entire Suns team could pitch in and purchase 13 taxis and hire 13 taxi drivers at $35-40K per year each. PJ goes out drinking and has his personal taxi driver on call for a ride home. I know this sounds unserious and flippant, but the cost for each player to have their own on call driver would not be prohibitive.

At the end of the day, extremely intoxicated people will usually not show the proper judgement on whether to drive home or get a ride.

I wonder if the Suns knew of this when they signed him to his new contract.
