Technically, we're a .549 ball club.
SHAZAM!

Suns traded Mikal Bridges, Cam Johnson, Jae Crowder and 4 1st round picks and a swap so some Vegas Bookies would like us.

Take a look at his performances in the last 8 games against Western Conference playoff teams ahead of the Suns:

1/9 vs. San Antonio- 17 points
1/11 vs. Memphis- 9 points
1/21 vs. Portland- 16 points
1/23 vs. Houston- 2 points (Benched after 18 minutes)
1/25 vs. LAC- 10 points
1/31 vs. Golden State- 10 points
2/2 vs. Memphis- 15 points
2/5 vs. Portland- 9 points

Dragic is averaging 11 ppg over that stretch. Five games with 10 points or less. Suns went 1-7 in those eight games with the only win coming against Portland on 1/21 where they blew a 25 point lead and barely came back to win. This is supposed to be the guy that was 3rd team All NBA last year and should have been on the all star team. I know there is an emotional attachment to Dragic but he has not played anywhere near the level he did last year. Thomas or no Thomas. This is on Dragic at this point. He looks a step slow, especially in transition, and his defense is non-existent as well. He had 19 games last year where he scored 25 or more points including 9 games where he scored 30 or more. This year he only has 4 games of 25 or more points and 1 game of 30 or more points. That is really not good at all.

Btw, I would still trade IT too. I think the Suns should trade both him and Dragic. I believe two things are probably going to happen. Dragic will leave the Suns in free agency and OKC will move ahead of the Suns this season whether they deserve to or not. The league will not let last year's MVP miss the playoffs and just watch as the Thunder start winning more and more games.

So if the Suns are not making the playoffs, might as well cash out now and trade some guys to free up playing time for Goodwin, Warren, and Ennis. What do the Suns have to lose? 1-7 in your last eight games against Western Conference playoff teams is all you need to know.

Be prepared for Dragic Fanboys to blame anyone and everyone for his poor performances (Except for Dragic himself that is!).

It's a two way street. He is out of position and not able to create as much. I think because of that he is disinterested/unengaged from everything. It's on both the team and Dragic. In spurts he looks like he is better able to setup teammates than bled or IT. Something has to give on this team though.

Dragic was my favorite player last year. I just can't believe I praised him so high last season and now he is playing this bad. One thing I would say, when we traded him for Brooks, he was struggling at that time too.. we gave up on him so quick so maybe we should think twice about this time around... Only thing making me say yes to a trade is 1. He's not worth max money. And 2. He doesn't want to be here anyways and may look to leave.

Suns need to trade. Just hope it's a good trade. Would love to see Green get consistent minutes with the starters. Bad when he's in with IT.

I see why people are saying Dragic isnt interested in being here anymore, because if we were in his posistion we would want to be. But no one here really knows weather he wants to be here because he to my understanding has not come out and said that. I am good with him leaving and bringing in a more traditional two guard like Aflalo or Gerald Henderson, but am also cool with Dragic coming back as long as Thomas, Green, and the Morri (YES... THE MORRI!!!), get traded.

Everything relies on Len.

We have always been extra protective with him. He sat out longer than he had to his rookie season. Instead of just operating on his injured ankle, we had them operate on both as a preemptive measure. We didnt rush him back from his hand injury either.

If he is forced to miss a month, our playoff hopes are doomed. We were already barely holding off OKC and NO, this would pretty much mean the end of our season, as i dont think we would really be able to compete as well as we have with Len gone.

So, if he is to miss a month, i say screw it, hold him out for the rest of the season, and blow the rest of this b**ch up.

Get whatever value for Dragic as we could. Get whatever value for IT/Green as we can. If we get a good enough offer for the MoBros, take it. Some nice young players with potential would be nice, but i would also take some draft picks and expirings as well, so we could at least make a splash in FA.

Give as many minutes to Goodwin/Warren as they can get.

Harris would be a great pick-up. A 6'9 SF that can rebound and defend, but who can also play minutes at PF as well. Honestly, my first move would be to trade NY whoever they want (not named Bledsoe/Wright/Len/Warren/Goodwin) for Carmelo. Melo is going to need surgery, so he can sit our for the rest of the season just like Len. With Bledsoe and Melo locked in long term, players around the league will know that we mean business, and will help open their eyes to the possibility of joining our squad (Just like players did when we had Nash/Amare).

Melo would open up so many possibilities for us roster-wise.

I love Tucker as an energy defensive sf coming off the bench but he is not a consistent enough threat on ofense to be a starting sf unless we have allstars at other posistions ie. A LMA at pf or Kobe at Sg. and he is the glue guy dirt worker in the chain. We need a starting caliber Sf. I like the skillset of Kief but there are lots of guys that if given the amount of freedom and shots he gets could and would put up similar or better numbers. No one on this board thinks Kief will be an allstar at any point do we? We have too many cooks in each lineup we put out there, there is no balance because there are no damn roles on this team. If we had a team full of stars then not having roles would be fine, shoot if you get an easy shot, but we dont have those guys.

Who is our scorer in the starting lineup? Bledso (sometimes....) Goran (sometimes....), Kief (sometimes...) but who and when is the problem. We go into every game with a we will see attitude and that is not being PREPARED! Bench scorer to come in and be the go to shooter... even more muddled. You have Thomas who is GOING to shoot, Green who is GOING to shoot, and you have Marcus who is bucking the system and going one on one every chance he gets... if all three are dead set on shooting who the hell is setting picks, fighting for rebounds and playing defense? We dont have roles witch is why this looks like a pickup game at the YMCA. The only posistion on this team who knows he is to set a pick in any given situation is the C. and when we go small, even that isnt getting done properly because the guys who are supposed to do it are still in the pf mindset and no one is setting screens and no one gets open and no one gets near the basket unless they beat thier man one on one, witch is why we shoot a TON of jump shots.

I agree with much of this but Melo and holding Len out when he's healthy make no sense to me. Unless there's a real medical reason to sit Len he needs that court time as much as the other young guys. I'm not going to make my case against Melo, it's just a repeat of the things that so many have already said about him. But Melo aside, I like the potential of our young guys. I want to give them a chance to grow up. We're not a year or two away from winning it all so let's find out what Ennis, Goodwin, Warren, Len and Bullock can become before we go in search of another big puzzle piece. Giving them minutes this season is sure to improve our draft position too.

Melo didnt even include us in the teams mentioned that he would accept money from this offseason. He and his wife are big market oriented. His mentioned teams were Ny. Chi. and La. He wont want to be in Phoenix. We were waiving money around this offseason and he didnt even look our direction.

Tucker is starting because Kieff cant rebound to save his life.
He's shooting 32% in corner 3's, losing too much battles on defense (although he's creating a lot of fastbreaks), trying to create his offense (sic). In a perfect world, he would be benched, but we cant handle nobody without him.

Thats because we really didnt go after him. Did you forget, we had all our eggs in the Lebron basket. After we missed out on Lebron, we turned all our attention to Bledsoe and thus the signing of Thomas. You also failed to mention Houston, they were also a mentioned team and did go after him too. If i recall correctly, those were the 4 teams that went after him and he mentioned all of them.

Yes... but Huston had The Beard and Superman! That can help overcome the big city big market need. Even with us putting all of our energy in Bron and Bled, if he had interest in being teamed up with those two or any interest in the city it would have come up somewhere, we were never a consideration. As a GM you gague interest and consider if you should even talk to a player wether it be through feelers or rumors or vibe around the player or past relationship with him, Ryan didnt say boo to him and he didnt to us... Thats not just random.

Someone in another forum told me that the Lakers might be working on a deal to send Nick Young to OKC for Ish and a pick.
Has anyone seen/heard anything on this?

I hope they do... if you think thier chemistry is bad with Westbrook and Jackson jacking up shots, let them make this trade... AND LET HILARITY ENSUE!!!

Yeah, i posted about it a day ago. Ish slipped up and tweeted a goodbye to his OKC teammates and talked about joining the Lakers. I guess he jumped the gun, as he couldnt be traded until today, due to the date he signed his contract with OKC. Didnt know who it was for, but many speculated he was just a small part of a much larger deal.

Looking at the trade machine, OKC has to add another player as Swaggy P makes $5M, while Ish is at $800K.
