^^^ yet another reason why I think DA should be called the Young Fundamental.

How many years did we watch Tim Duncan do this to us in the paint? He didn't rack up a ton of blocks, but he altered almost everything inside, gobbled up rebounds and always had good positioning and a high motor.

If this was a video game, Ayton would have an aura like -10% opponent's inside shooting and +5 possessions with his rebounding.

Gotta give DA props. He has been exactly what we needed in defense and rebounding and high percentage shots on the pick and roll with CP3 and Book. Anything else is gravy.

Surprised PG didn't throw in a subtle compliment for himself.

Can someone comment on General Basketball for the Ayton post.

People saying he has been inconsistent for 2 years lol. Am I the only one that has seen him as a consistent double-double machine? While improving every game!

I would take Ayton over Towns 24/7/365. We dont need Ayton to score 30 pts with zero defense. If he can put up 18/12 with elite defense, he has more value than Towns.

OKI'm gonna say it. Ayton needs the max before Bridges. He's more important. If we HAVE to make a decision, it's him.

(But in reality, $arver is owes us this, resign both.)

Both guys will get resigned but if you had the choice between only giving max to one guy, it's gotta be Ayton

Hopefully Sarver realizes if he keeps the team together he's more likely to keep raking in this playoff money. Ayton definitely deserves his next contract though.

Just saw on his Insta that he gifted all arena staff members a pair of Pumas to thank them for their effort.
Much like after his game one dunks, I can only say: nice move big fella! Keep up the good work.

Those Pumas probably cost him nothing right? Probably comped by Puma since he's one of their star ambassadors.

If I was on a fat $8m a year, I think I'd probably do gift cards.

Did you really just try to call out Ayton for giving out shoes to everyone? You should be applauding him for using his sponsorship for the good! Crazy that someone does something nice and people still say "he should have done this".

LilFishy - You should donate $1k - 2k to the workers. I will match your donation. Let's go.

Interesting info

ESPN analyst Brian Windhorst said he watches games on the NBA League Pass, which does not show commercials. Instead, the cameras pan on the respective huddles during breaks in the action. Windhorst said that no player in the league gets chewed out more than Ayton during timeouts.

Shortly after arriving in Phoenix, Paul told a friend that Ayton looked like a player who hadn’t received substantive coaching his entire basketball life.

Yet Ayton accepted all the tough love and in-house criticism with an open mind and open heart. That tells you a lot about the student and the teachers. It illuminates the culture and brotherhood fueling this basketball team, one that is seven victories away from the greatest achievement in team history.

I was thinking the same response after that. He hate it but I've always hated to the writers calling him that. I kind of hated when they called Duncan "Timmy" too. I can understand the teammates/coaches with Timmy.

But for Ayton, call him his name...never liked the standard go to for bigs with "big fella". Do they call CP3/Carter, etc "little fella"?

It's so great that he is so receptive to feedback and learning. I can understand with Igor and first year Monty after a long layoff with Paul having worked with so many bigs. I imagine Paul has talked to Booker a lot. His game has transformed immensely throughout the year as well. And Payne just continues to get better and better.

I hope as time goes on he works a lot with Jalen Smith as well.
