Bledsoe's talent is not worth Bledsoe's primadonna, spoiled, 2014-athlete bull.
Cut bait with this guy and move on. Draft and acquire high-character, high-motor guys who WANT to be here only.

Will it still be about 4yr/$63M? So basically we offer a 5 year $67M deal? Or heck, make it 5yr/$68M just to ensure there is no possible scenario he could make more if he took the QO. Then, if he refuses that, then we know it's that he doesn't want to be in PHX.
I know we don't need to bid against ourselves, and that is still a hefty price to pay for a guy that we don't know will be healthy for the life of a contract, but I think we are all pretty much in agreement that if he is healthy, he'd play to the level worthy of the contract, right?
I'm not necessarily advocating for this type of move, but it would probably be better than a one year rental, right? Or if they are concerned about the length, make it a 4yr/$56M. Of course, they'd make it declining to the maximum extent possible, to facilitate a trade in a couple of years if we need to offload his contract because he is, in fact, injury prone.
What are your thoughts as to what actually happens?
a) We S&T before the deadline...
b) We sign him to a Max contract...
c) We meet somewhere in between as mentioned above...
d) We don't budge and he caves and signs for $48M...
e) We don't budge and he signs the QO...
I wish C would happen but I am beginning to feel much more strongly that E happens. I would be okay if A happens but that really only depends on what is coming back to the Suns and it seems there is no team that fits perfectly as trade partners (having max or almost max cap space and assets).

Again... what has he done that is so offensive? He has kept his mouth shut, he has stayed in shape... the guy is trying to get the highest wage possible as a free agent, something virtually anyone would do. Has his agent set up an unrealistic expectation? Certainly. But Bledsoe has done nothing to warrant the silly hate people are spewing.
The guy is a very good player, IMO the best all around player on our team. He is almost certainly going to be back here next year and if the fans turn on him then they're idiots.

I don't mind that you have no issues with him but don't get upset if other people don't see your view. Most of us just want a little loyalty. He has shown ZERO loyalty to the organization, fans, or community. I'm all for supporting someone that comes out and says "I don't want to leave" or "my first choice is to stay" but he has done neither/nothing to show this. It's just money, money, money. So yes I have an issue with him. Those type of people are called spoiled brats/divas.
Adrian Wilson would give his left nut to come back to phx. Darnell is killing himself because he can't be there for his team. I.Thomas already is out in the community and voice his love for phx. Those are the types I support.
Bledsoe has done nothing for anyone to support his view or his actions. He has done literally nothing to command respect from anyone. And to top it off, a more than generous offer (in my opinion more than he deserves) was made to him from the suns and he doesn't even give them the respect to talk about. Not a damn phone call, text, nothing. Talk about disrespect.
If Bledsoe wants support he can call his mom. If he wants respect, than act like a f$&@ing man.

I think a big part of it is we have been somewhat spoiled in the sense we have almost always had high character guys that wanted to be here. Not even coming in to negotiate a contract is a little offending

I don't need him to hold my hand and tell me how pretty I am. I want a winner on the court not a sweet talker away from it. So he doesn't have an agent writing love tomes to the city of Phoenix, BFD. If he was out bad mouthing the players, the organization or the city, I'd turn on him too but that just hasn't happened. I knock Bledsoe down a little because he was dumb enough to sign with a conman instead of a real agent. Otherwise, this is just business and when he finally handles his, this will all blow over for most fans. Not you, obviously but I believe most Suns fans will welcome him back.

Your misunderstanding me. He is lacking not only loyalty to his team but also loyalty to the game. His actions show me the game itself isn't as important as the money. That's just another reason I don't want him on the team. I brought up Adrian Wilson because he took numerous pay cuts because he loved the game and loved his team. That's the player I want.
Well I haven't been friends with any professional athletes so the hand holding isn't going to happen. But i guarantee all GMs, owners, and coaches want loyalty from there players. They also look for the commitment to the game itself.
Bledsoe is lucky Keim isn't working with him. He would have been gone the second he denied his contract.

Adrian Wilson took pay cuts because NFL contracts are not guaranteed and if guys dont renegotiate they get axed. What ended up happening to Wilson once he ran out of equity to renegotiate? The Cards cut him.

The point I was trying to make is that wiggins was good enough to get love and we know bledsoe is nowhere near as good as love. So if someone is only willing to trade bledsoe for wiggins than why not just give bledsoe the max since that particular poster values him so much.
Bledsoe is nowhere near as good as Love? That's highly debatable. Bledsoe is a two-way player, Love is not. I'll leave it at that.
That's not debatable between 99.9% of people who follow the nba. Among Suns fans though, it might be more like 75%.

Yeah, also a combination of money as well as eroding ability. Everyone's career comes to an end at some point.

In my opinion he eventually will. Honestly, I wouldn't be surprised if he is thinking he will be very happy playing in Phx for a little more than what they have offered (I guess 4-8 million isn't a little) but I think Rich Paul convinces him to hold out because he has nothing to lose.
I maintain to this day, that he will NOT take the QO.

Yeah I would take love over Bledsoe everytime. Decent Forwards are hard to find. All-star forwards are really hard to come by. In this era of basketball quality PGs are a dime a dozen.
There is probably around 6-7 teams that don't have a quality PG. Whereas there are probably 6-7 teams that actually have a quality big.
And the teams with quality bigs are usually either in the playoffs or finals.

I know the salary ins and outs of the NBA v. the NFL are very, very different. and therein may be the reason why so many are kinda freaking out on this curious Bledsoe situation.
IDK. Just a thought I wanted to post.
Go Cards! It's a big one tomorrow.
It's easier to give out big contracts in the NFL because you can cut them at any time and owe them nothing..they HAVE to perform. I wish the NBA was like that. Typically with really good players, a certain amount is guaranteed or they receive bonuses early, but outside of that, if they don't perform, they don't get paid.

Don't you need to come to the table with reasoning on why you're worth more? If the reports are true, he hasn't done this. While I am not as against the guy as others, those others have all the right to be upset with him. He's tied himself to an inexperienced agent and refuses to talk to the team. That, to me, means he wants out of Phoenix if he won't negotiate.

Bledsoe is not as good as Love but if the phrase is "nowhere near as good as Love" then it becomes highly debatable IMO. Love is better and Love plays a more valuable position but Eric isn't chump change.

**** bledsoe. You can ride his nutsack outta town. A guy that is literally injured his entire career really doesn't do much for me.
