Re: The Official 2025 Offseason Thread Part 2
So if we want to deal with NY, best option that works (cap wise) would be
Mitch
OG
Kolek
So even if we don't get a pick, we still get a prospect. Keeps us competitive if that's what Ishbia wants.
OG is 27
Bridges is 28
OG makes about 39
Bridges makes about 25
I wouldn't want this and this type of deal doesn't make me want to watch next season, but it's likely the best option we could do to align with defense and so forth.
KAT is the other option and.....yea no thanks

I wish I went to Michigan State (went to an academically superior school), I could’ve got some type of GM job with the Suns.
And honestly I’d do a better job than the idiots Ishbia has hired. Worst case scenario, I get fired after a year and can retire early with a nice payout

Re: The Official 2025 Offseason Thread Part 2
Ishbia 100% was behind the Durant trade. Jones wasn’t going to budge on Mikal as they were at a standstill for a month or 2. Word even leaked out Jones was standing firm with his offer and was not including bridges multiple times. Ishbia buys the team and KD is immediately trade to phx and Matt comes out talking about how we need superstar power in this league to win etc etc. Matt’s finger prints were immediately on this team and now he’s playing coy trying to shift blame like a typical narcissist. The good thing is it can’t really get much worse honestly. It can but not by enough for me to care at least.
"Mannnnn I’m like the guy that pissed this whole board off saying literally all year no Mikal, no Mikal in the KD trade."

I don’t think Kat is the type of player the suns are looking for moving forward. I’d be very surprised if we traded for him. It sounds like media bait.

I posted similar that I am not a fan of the Knicks packages but for sure — the two that aren’t KAT make more sense
Bridges hart kolek
Robinson OG kolek
Sentimental reasons - I like bridges . But defense would be better and would allow Booker to just score

Re: The Official 2025 Offseason Thread Part 2
suns have a history of screwing their own future and helping others in the process.
In 2007, during his first month as GM of the Phoenix Suns, Steve Kerr was directed by owner Robert Sarver to cut salary and avoid the luxury tax. Kerr did so by trading Kurt Thomas to the SuperSonics, along with unprotected first-round picks in 2008 and 2010.
That unprotected 2008 first-round pick ended up being the 24th overall selection, which Sam Presti used to draft Serge Ibaka.
Seven seasons later, Presti traded Serge Ibaka to the Magic for Victor Oladipo and the 11th pick in the 2016 draft, which turned into Domantas Sabonis.
A season later, Presti traded both Oladipo and Sabonis to the Pacers in exchange for Paul George.
Finally, in 2019, the Thunder traded Paul George in the blockbuster deal that brought Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and a haul of draft picks to OKC. One of those picks became the 12th overall selection in 2022, which was used to draft Jalen Williams.
In the end, Steve Kerr and Robert Sarver played a part in shaping the Oklahoma City Thunder team we see today.
Lesson is you have to value your assets not sell them for instant success

SHAZAM!
Suns traded Mikal Bridges, Cam Johnson, Jae Crowder and 4 1st round picks and a swap so some Vegas Bookies would like us.

People like Ishbia sense weakness so buy a team with low standards and governance so they be the next controller abuser
No way does he even dare to do this at an organisation like San Antonio

Re: The Official 2025 Offseason Thread Part 2
The more and more I think about how far this franchise has fallen since April-ish 2022 and how dismal its future is the angrier I get. I love love love the Suns. But I will not watch next season if they roll back the same garbage. It’s going to take a miracle this summer to win me back over. I’ll never be a fan of any other team but that doesn’t mean I have to watch. It’ll just mean no NBA for me. Depressing ass **** man. Fkn Suns

Frank is probably right and we’re looking at Point D-Lo or some other BS next season. Why bother watching that

More like a 1 year deal, 35 wins and your fired and free money for 3 years. That seems to be how it goes for Suns head coaches these days.

Re: The Official 2025 Offseason Thread Part 2
Maybe all the Booker marriage talk is Ishbia rope-a-dope to up his value and we’ll blow this trash up but I doubt it. And who’s gonna want Book on 60+ mil a year other than us anyways. I just cannot think of anything positive here with the next 5yrs of this franchise no matter how hard I try

Arizona Sports can confirm this is the case, as Ishbia sent a letter to members of the basketball operations staff on Wednesday regarding the changes coming, per a source with the team.
“Let me start with the most important point – the Phoenix Suns will do things very differently than most other NBA franchises,” Ishbia writes in the letter after stating he wants to be direct with staff on creating a culture of accountability.
“I will be extremely active in the decisions and management of this organization, on and off the floor,” he goes on to write. “While I won’t be reviewing film, designing offenses, or running the draft room, I will be deeply involved in ensuring that basketball operations, like every other area of our organization, is performing at the highest level.
“I’m aware that this approach is different from most other NBA franchises. I’m not the conventional NBA owner and I don’t want to be. I’ve tried running the typical NBA owner playbook – hiring the experts, signing the checks, and getting out of the way – and none of us were happy with the outcome. Making the playoffs two out of three years, and only winning one playoff series, is not good enough for this franchise and this community.”
lol yikes
Gross. Dude inherited Jones and let him run wild (I still don't believe Ishbia was behind the Durant trade - I think Jones wanted to do it, Sarver wouldn't let him, and when Ishbia came along he let Jones do what he wanted) and got embarrassed, so now he's on tilt.
It isn't inherently bad for him to be involved... But what other NBA franchise has this model and has success? Something about it doesn't work. Maybe on the business side of things, but not on the basketball side. Basketball side is not a corporation. Mfker thinks he's smarter than the other 29 owners, but of course he does. They all think that way.
We better nail this Durant trade and better not surrender assets just to get rid of Beal. If we don't get a real starting PG I'm out on next season. Booker is not a PG. It's not fair to the fans or to him to waste him as a PG. Just say no to Point Book.
There was a Durant trade in place the summer before it happened, so yes it originated with Jones. The reason why it didn't happen over the summer is because the Nets wanted all the pieces they ended up getting, while Jones didn't want to pay so much for Durant. Ishbia took over the team and decided while at dinner to go ahead and give them everything they wanted.... because what's the worst that could happen, right?

Because we are fans of a team. Go watch someone else then
