West Playoffs: <50 win teams need not apply

This is destined to be a short-lived thread, but I just can't wrap my head around the idea that you can't get into the Western Conference playoffs unless your team wins fifty games.

Sometimes I suspect that in the Finals, the Eastern Conference team reaps the benefits of an easier season, and at least one creampuff round in the playoffs.

I mean seriously: Does anyone think that Cleveland isn't going to just destroy Toronto? Or Orlando/Charlotte?

Then you look at the West's current matchups. They're all epic, with the possible exception of LA/Portland. Personally, I hope L.A. gets the Spurs - I know they'll fight tooth and nail (possibly literally), even if they don't win.

Well, it's exciting. At least this year we don't have a team like the Warriors missing the playoffs with 48 wins. I may be the only one who wants the Spurs in the first round.

Ginobli is playing out of his mind with Parker out. I wouldn't mind the Spurs too much because I still want payback. Also, if they lose to us I can see them wanting to rebuild :D

It is pretty crazy to think that typically in a season, a 50 win team would be considered quite successful, but this season, its sort of a prerequisite. Although that makes it more difficult for teams to get through playoff rounds, it should make an awesome playoffs for fans.

We just...wouldn't win. I really don't think we can beat them as long as Duncan/Ginobili/Popovich are there. I would rather play ANYONE than the spurs.

It should be the 4 teams from each conference make playoffs and then the the next 8 teams make playoffs based on their record.

Yeah the West has always been better but there is just some serious power this season. 50 wins is crazy, we've had plenty of seasons where we made the playoffs with less

Glass half full = Tied for Second.
Glass half empty = Tied for Fifth.

Just saying...

Spurs making a case for why NO ONE should want to play them.
