JRich Wanted it...Everyone Else, Meh...

Post#1 » by JMac1 » Tue May 18, 2010 1:15 pm

We need more guys with CONFIDENCE on this team. We lost last night because we lacked confidence.

JRich was the only one out there showing some emotion. Did you see him after Frye bobbled that easy pass at the rim? He was pissed. He saw the fear in Frye's eyes. Did you see him at the end of the third, when that three went in and out? He wasn't scared. He was trying to rally the troops.

We are intimidated by a guy from Italy who acts like he is from the streets of Philly, why? Because he knows he can get away with it. We are a team full of "nice" guys. Name one player with a mean streak on this team outside of Lopez. How can Lopez take 2 months off and be the most effective Sun with a +2???

Watch Boston play tonite, then watch us play. Boston doesn't have the talent we have, but they have heart, fire, desire, passion and courage.

I was thinking about all of the basketball intangibles when I felt we could beat LA,but I forgot about the most important thing.......... mental intangibles. That is the difference from being also rans and champions.........I guarantee Odom and that bench doesn't play like that against Boston and Kobe won't state he wants revenge against the C's. He doesn't have the guts, only against our mentally soft team.

I hate it when we get punked by Kobe

Well said Jmac and I was also pissed when Dragic apologized to Odom for hitting him in the eye, this is the West freaking Finals Dragic there is no time for apologizes we have to go out there and play hard.
As for game 2 we have to play 2-3 zone when kobe is on the court and when he gets the ball JRich and Hill should double him and run the risk with Artest who is reluctant to shoot at times.

Which guy from Italy?

I think we were confident but I don't think that was the problem. I thought while we came out strong we went flat real quick, which meant we lacked urgency. We were playing like we were happy just to be in the WCF. It's just embarrassing.

But again, credit to the Laker defense, they were in the face of all our 3PT shooters and they never let up throughout the game. One thing that really annoyed me was that even though the Lakers were chasing us off the 3PT line, we were still chucking them. We should've been taking it to the rim and draw fouls. Not that there were many to be drawn but still, we gotta be aggressive and put the onus on the refs to make the call. In the 2nd quarter we came back pretty close after LB and Dragic started taking it to the rim and drawing fouls, I think that was the closest we ever got after the 1st.

The 3rd quarter we were just heaving 3's with no chance of getting rebounds. Amare was hitting his outside shot and that was probably our "game plan" but that played right into P-Jax's hands. Phil is fine with Amare shooting the jumper even if he was hitting them because he knows Amare can't beat them by shooting jumpers. That's why Amare scored all those points but never looked like he was ever a factor or impacted the game in anyway. Our 3PT shooting just wasn't there tonight but we have to find other ways to score if our 3PT shots are hitting. We didn't start taking it to the rim till late in the 3rd when we were already down like 19. Too little too late.

Game 2, we have to come out with urgency. We have to play game 2 like it's our game 7 because being down 0-2 to the defending champs is basically down 0-3, it's not going to look good. Jrich, I'm not worried about since he was shooting a great percentage, he was getting to the rim with his quick dives and he just wasn't getting open shots because they played real well. Amare has to be the one to put his stamp on the game. He's gotta come out early and start attacking the rim, draw those fouls. Once he gets the Laker bigs in foul trouble, their perimeter defense will soften to help in the paint and that's when we'll start seeing more open 3PT shots. It all starts and ends with Amare, he plays well and he's going to get our 3PT shooters open. He plays passively and settles for jumpers and the Laker defenders are going to stick on our 3PT shooters like superglue.

You make a great point Jmac, we're not going to win if guy who took two months off is the best player on the team/

Most of the Suns' 3's were wide open, they were just too nervous to make them. Frye has always been terrible playing on the road. Add that to the pressure he must be feeling and he crumbles like he did last night.

I'm sad to start realizing that we put too much on Frye's shoulders.

And yeah Dragic, don't f'n apologize for smackin him. Tell him it'll be worse next time if he doesn't give you the f'n ball, lol.

The Suns lost because they played terrible defense. Just watch Kobe when Dudley is guarding him, its like a shark attacking a fish or a con man attacking a rich old lady. He an easy mark.

Only players that showed up were Richardson, Hill, and Amare. Hill needs to stay out of foul trouble, I really liked the D he was playing on Kobe.

And how about those Laker fans in the crowd? Looked like such an incredible collection of douches. I think I saw maybe 2 Laker jerseys on fans, way to many trophy women, and no one was wearing the right colors. AND they made no noise the entire game. Pathetic.

??? Boston has 3, possibly 4, Hall of Famers on their team. Thats right, I said Rondo might be a HoF'er one day.

lol never compare Nash to Kobe again lol. Nash Is amazing. So are all the others you named. But to be totally honest out of the list of players you named Kobe and Shaq even Duncan are the best on the list. Will be remembered forever. They Won more than one championship. Some cases back2back.

It's a valid comparison when I say they are both Hall of Famers, just like it's a valid comparison if I say they are both basketball players. I didn't say Nash was better than Kobe nor did I say Kobe was better than Nash.

Kobe lovers get so heated over such small things

Well to be honest, Kobe = rapist, Nash = model citizen. So they're not comparable.
Suns fan during the KJ era (Coliseum), through the Barkley era (Am West Arena), and now the Nash era (US Airways Arena)!

Heh, no wonder he is trying to live vicariously through teams whose star players can actually lead them deep into the playoffs.

Don't mean to go off-topic here, but having read these boards since 2005 and I am sure I can speak for most fan bases on each side, we are reading eachothers boards more when we are going head to head. I kept thinking something was missing from this board. Then it donned on me, where is SDU?

Yeah Man lol. I live in Toronto. And I love Steve Nash also. He's the best Canadian prospect in the NBA. Love his game, love how he played through the elbow to the eye and still hitting 3's. Just Kobe IS better and Kobe is one of the all time greats. I love Denver because of Melo but they got Molested by Utah lmao.

SDU is around, from what I've heard he reads the forum often but doesn't post much anymore. Ain't like the good old days...
