Rather watch the bench play?

Post#1 » by Blackification » Thu May 20, 2010 7:20 am

Who else at this point enjoys watching the bench play? That bench unit + rolo in for frye is more entertaining for me to watch than our starters at this point. They work so much harder and give so much more effort I actually want them to come in as soon as possible. Kind of sad if you look at the talent level of our starters, but at least people can say the suns have some what of a future when nash retires and if amare leaves. The suns young guys are why I am a fan at this point.

I'd love to see the young guys play...because it would gurantee them a top 10 pick every year.

Rob Lopez
Perry Jones
Earl Clark
Michael Gilchrist
Goran Dragic

= Championship!

Besides Dudley, the bench has been meh during the postseason overall, and inconsistant. Effort isn't everthing there is to basketball.

Much rather watch the starters play.

I would like to see the bench player more in this series as it's proven that Amar'e is playing bad.

Umm yeah, they're the ones that got the Suns back into the game. It's because they actually play defense unlike Nash and Amare.

JRich, Hill and Dudley were our best players last night. Lopez did good too but didn't play enough.

And whoever said our bench wasn't doing well this postseason is smoking crack. They're the reason we are here.

You're the one who's smoking crack

I said that except for Dudley the bench has been mediocre over the postseason, which they have. You even acknowledged that Hill/J-Rich/Dudley were the only ones who brought it last night.

Over the postseason so far the only guys who have been playing well somewhat consistantly are Nash, Hill, Dudley, and J-Rich. Not the majority of the bench.

YOU ARE!!

Nah not really though. Dragic won us game 3. Frye has been lights out prior to this series. Amundson is doing what's expected. Dudley has been amazing.

The only consistently bad bench players have been LB and Collins. Everyone else is exceeding expectations, unless you count this series.

I've always loved seeing the bench play, even during the regular season.

The hustle, the potential Dragic, Lopez (if he plays with the 2nd unit), Dudley has, the determination, the defense - all things the starters don't always have.

The bench has been a big weakness for us this series. They are being owned by LA's bench.

Call me crazy, but production wise, I think Goran does a better job than Nash against the Lakers. Less turnovers, and he's been doing an amazing job on defense. I also like Barbosa and J rich more in this series.

The problem with Nash is that he's walking/jogging up on almost every possession. I can't recall too many times in the two games when Nash pushed the ball on b2b possessions. When Dragic and LB are in the game, they pushed on almost every possession and they only get stuck when the defense cut off the push and they have to play i the half court and even then, they stay aggressive and trying to take it hard to the rim. It just seems like Nash *wants* to play the half court and that's just not what we're good at. JRich as well had been playing real well, he's not chucking the ball like he used to and is finding ways to cut to the rim when there's an opportunity.
