Why does Phil Jackson Lack sportsmanship

If you caught the post game interviews. he basicly complained about officiating. Complaining about Gasol's non calls. Didnt give any credit to the Suns. The dude has never said a nice thing about Nash.
In our losses, I never once heard Gentry complain about non calls and he really had some justified grips but he never did.
Whats with this guy? Why does he lack any sportsmanship. Every year we lost to the Spurs at least popvich gave us credit in the games we won, The guy just lacks so much class!
Jackson certainly wasnt complaining for the first to games when him Kobe and Gasol got every call imaginable. Jackson seems like a person that can dish it but cant take it.
Off the subject alittle, still think he is one of the most overrated coaches in history. Any coach with the players he has had to work with would have rings too, just saying. He has had the greatest Guard in history (Jordan) and arguably the Best center of all time (Shaq). Now he has a mini all-star team. Must be nice.

I'd hire him.
The KJ-Majerle-Barkley Suns in the 90's woulda won at least one ring
...Nash-Stoudemire-(other) Suns? Maybe two

If you had a team in rebuild mode you would hire him? I think he has proven that without a talent laden roster he isnt a very good coach. Now if you have a team full of all-stars then yea go out get yourself Phil.

Agree to disagree. Leave it at that! Those teams were successful because of the styles the coaches implimented. Phil definitely would not have won as many games with the Nash Stoudemire years. Phil doesnt use point guards! So the Nash you know would have never been! Point Guards are kind of useless in Phil systems.

This is prolly why Red Auerbach and Pop dont like him. He is a huge hypocrite too. He complained about the dallas trade for caron butler n haywood but kept his mouth shut about trading for gasol for a pack of magic beans.

Well Pops complained about the Gasol to Lakers trade too while later that season he got Kurt Thomas for Brent Berry who was then promptly returned to the Spurs to complete the steal.

Non-calls? What about Gasol pushing off on Amare with the off-hand that didn't get called?

Everything Phil Jackson does is for a reason; he's been in the league for a **** of time.

I get so sick of officiating whines, complaints and comments be it by the coaches, players, or us fans.. I think the officiating in pro basketball sucks as much as anyone else, far more than it does in any of the other three major sports. However, i don't think it is by intention conspiracy or mandate. These officials know how scrutinized they are as does the league office, they know that we as fans and the media are critiquing every call and looking for favoritism where it likely doesn't exist. They live under a microscope very few of us will ever experience and it's their lively-hood at stake.
They want to build a reputation as being good and fair referees that's how they get the privilege of doing post season games. I just think its not possible to do much better on average than they do when you have a game that moves as fast as pro basketball does and has so many ways to be interpreted based on where you see the play from. They aren't watching this on 52 inch big screen tvs with 4 camera angles, they make a split second decision on a play that they may have had an obscured view of. They are human, so i am sure they also get caught up in home crowd emotion at times, but i don't think its done with a pre-mediated purpose. So i think its pointless to rant, complain, whine, blame losses on or generally focus on the officials. I believe the better team most often win regardless off how the games were called and it all generally evens out anyway
all in all none of this likely had a lot to do with this thread, but oh well.

First off, coaching Kobe, Jordan and Shaq - Jackson should never complain about officiating as he has gotten as many calls as the old Celtics at the Gardne
Second - this working the officials in the media. I don;t get why the crew working Game 4 should care about what Rush, Washington and McCutcheon called in GAme 3
The Suns were the aggressors last night. In fact, they should have had about 6-8 more free throws for Amare alone.
So its Phil being Phil and the NBA with the way it is - hopefully it doesn't affect how game 4 is called.
Finally when Kobe went to the basket down 10 with less then a minute to go - somebody should have leveled his a** into next Tuesday

The complaining about calls is a bit annoying but Phil Jackson is one of the greatest NBA coaches of all time. The "players winning it" thing is BS, any team that wins a ring has to have massive talent...no coach in the league is gonna win a title for a crappy team.

I was listening to the game on the radio and Al McCoy was priceless. "The Lakers are surprised that they are getting fouls called against them, it doesn't happen at the Staples Center." "And now Derek Fisher is telling Monty McCutchen how the game should be reffed." "Two phantom fouls in a row, I don't know who you have to beat playing the Lakers." "SUNS WIN! SUNS WIN!"
He also said something along the lines of the refs should grow a set and officiate the game. That was a great game to listen to on the radio and I'm glad the Suns pulled out the win despite the questionable officiating and an off shooting night from behind the arc.
On the Jackson comments, I think it's ridiculous how much he can get away with. It sounded like he was constantly in the ref's ear and it seemed like it took forever for him to get a technical for it. I think if Gentry would have complained that much he would have been thrown out. Yeah he's one of the GOAT but so is Pop and he is a classy guy and gives credit where credit is due.

He could also have talked about Kobe's action on Nash and López.
Coincidentally, he hit those two guys just where they were previously injured. Coincidence or premeditation?
He hit Nash strong in the face with his elbow in a play where he did not need that in any way. It seemd kind of premeditated and ot out of place.
The he pushed López in his lower back when he was up in the air and Robin fell hardly to the court.
Coincidencies happen all the time, but staff work in this kind of things too and advice players how to act, how toplay and how and where to hit other players that have been recently injured.
Did Kobe get advantage of who he is to get away with no flagrant fouls and no negative comments about this?
Did he not mention anything about throwing the ball out any time they score so we cannot start the next play as quick as we want? That was continuosly made in the first two games and even they got a technical.
Also, 2+1 on Gasol and Bryant always seem to be a little bit softier than for any other player.

^ I thought it was Fisher who elbowed Nash in the face? I was a little under the influence though, as I had prepared for a possible crushing blow by lowering my awareness...

If they hurt Nash or Lopez, send in Collins to clothesline Kobe hard, and Jones to take Fisher out. And Earl Clark to step on Bynum's knee accidentally while coming down hard.

Yea Fisher boned Nash's nose with his hard ass head, while trying to go for a foul.
