I Might Be Happy With Beasley Here.

Post#1 » by JMac1 » Mon Jun 21, 2010 5:25 am

When asked about Beasley's possibility in PHX.

Coolstorybro from Miami boards:

Well if Amare is gone, I'm not sure how long Nash (And Hill for that matter) will stick around. The Suns will continue to run regardless, and that should play into Beasley's strengths on the offensive end. He's a better offensive player than he's shown here IMO, though I question whether he can be efficient in scoring at the NBA level.

Defensively - He's not nearly as poor of a defender as people make him out to be, and has really improved in that regard. Then again he's only 6'7" - 6'8" so he certainly has his limitations. Next to Lopez who is a legit 7 footer, and a solid defensive player in his own right, his 'lack' of height should be off-set somewhat. He was a great rebounder in college, but it hasn't translated to the NBA.

He's no Amare, but the Suns system should be able to get the most productivity out of him and his potential. If he can't impress there, then I don't know what to say.

Me too. I am getting good feedback on Beasley from Heat fans.

I would have been happy with him here when they were shopping Amare before and everyone was against bringing him in, problem is now they can just sign Amare outright. Getting him would be a bonus but I doubt it happens.

Of course you are you twit. Figure it out.

That goes for all of you. Stop seeing greener pastures here. It will flat out suck if we lose Amare.

If Amare leaves, Beasley would be a decent replacement but we'd still need a legit 19-21 PPG player. I'd suggest trading Barbosa for Maggette straight-up. Before yall start bitching about his contract it's not so bad considering he's giving us more points per dollar than J-Rich plus he's a top 5 rebounder at his position. J-Rich/Maggette would be the best rebounding SG-SF combo in the league. Lets be honest, Grant Hill is a decent player but he's 37 and not capable of putting up the scoring numbers we'd need if Amare left. He'd be a perfect back-up SF coming off the bench playing 25 MPG...

Nash, Dragic
J-Rich, Dudley
Maggette, Hill
Beasley, Clark
Lopez, Frye

Great D off the bench and could probably sneak in the playoffs.

No to Magette. I would rather just throw Clark into the fire and see how he does.

alway liked maggette, he bring us at least points from the line. no to beasley, if we got some money to spend sign a legit pf, not a 6,7 guy who thikns he is a pf...

before we get beasley i would give clark a try.

I would rather have Beasley than nothing. I think Miami would be happy giving us Beasley as they want to clear up as much cap space as possible for another max free agent. Hell I reckon they'll be willing to throw in a draft pick if we take back James Jones' contract.

I'd much rather have Yi. Brings a bigger fanbase to Phoenix too, something Sarver would love.

We know exactly what we get with Jr. Solid D, 3pt shooting, fundamentally sound, model citizen/locker room guy.... decent, very tradable contract.

I consider him Grant Hill lite.

Beasley really is not a true PF. I have not seen him play a lot, but in reading about him via miami board, I dont think he is what we need. I am one who would like to see an improvement in Defense and rebounding at PF.... else we just might as well keep Stat. Beasley also has negative intangibles, though rumored.... except for his bag-o-weed display. He also has one of the worst nick names ever, and reeks with knuckleheadness.

I we had to take one.... give me Jr all day long.

I think SouperCoo Bees be 1 and done here.

True. But I think Beasley's potential definatly is a factor. Last season he averaged around 15 and 6.5 in just under 30 minutes played. Thats pretty good for a second year player in a slow half-court system.

If Amare ends up in Miami would be nice to at least get beasley and cook back. But I wonder if Riley will do that since they will be bare bones and in need of more then a few players to make up a minimal roster, that alone compete with a highly expensive Wade/Amare combo. I wouldn't automatically assume Miami is going to shower Amare with MAX dollars and years to sign him.

i think that we would def. trade beasley and cook for amare

as is we would have enough for wade, amare and 8 mil in cap

moving beasley and cook frees up another 7 mil

thats enough money for a guy like jj OR to sign multilple guys for 15 mil including haywood

Regarding JJ, knowing that:
1. he likes Miami
2. he likes money even more
3. someone will be dumb enough to pay him the max
4. he'd take money over anything else

I'd say trading Beasely to Phoenix for cap space makes significantly more sense. However, had I been the GM of Miami Heat, I wouldn't go as far as signing three max players and center them with minimum players.

This. Beasley would thrive here.
