For the most part refs do a decent job at not calling flops(and yellow carding floppers) and letting play go on but it's really only those isolated instances that gives soccer a bad rep for being a soft sport. I used to play soccer when I was young but never played for a club or anything so I was never "taught" to flop so the concept of flopping in soccer is pretty foreign and disappointing to me.
