any chance of us signing Lee or Boozer if STAT walks

Post#1 » by The Shiv » Sun Jun 27, 2010 4:52 pm

Is it possible for us to sign one of these guys, I know Sarver is too cheap to try, but will we even have enough under the cap to do something like this?

I hope not. If Amare leaves, we are trying to get younger, not in debt. Lee is a midget too. I don't know why you guys want him. He is an inch shorter than Amare. You guys will be in for a rude awakening if you think Lee is a 20-10 player here. He would getting be mauled on defense.

Give me Frye, Yi or Bealsey who is only 1/2 shorter than Lee, with longer arms. I'd like to see how Yi fits in here for 4 million. At this point I'll take Yi and picks for Amare.

A future front court of

Clark 6'10
Frye 6'11
Lopez 7'0

and hella cap space in 2012. JRich gone, LB gone, Nash gone, and Hill gone. That's 35 million dollars!!!!!

Nope, I doubt Sarver spends ANY money before the new CBA is established, will probably be a lockout next summer and that's the right thing to do because alot of these teams with money this summer will have a heck of a whole lot of untradeable contracts once it's passed.

Frye, Yi, and Beasley are all softer then Lee and that is not easy to do. At least Lee crashes the boards. Sarver owes it to Nash and Hill to get guys who can help now. We were an offensive board away from the finals.

I'd like Boozer over Lee. Boozer has more talent and crashes the boards as well. neither plays defense all that well but Boozer can play pick and pop and he's tough. I'd sign Boozer to a 14 mil contract or so if Amare walks. If Utah wants Barbosa give them to them for their TPE shed cap space sign Frye with that money and maybe give a little more of it to Boozer

Nash/Dragic
J rich/Dudley/Reynolds?
Hill/Clark
Boozer/Lawal/Collins
Lopez/Frye

That team still can contend

Boozer got raped by the lakers frontline!!!!!!!!! Did you see his stats from that series or lack there of?

And they are going to be a lot cheaper than an undersized PF. I can see him getting block trying to go off of the glass on a put back instead of dunking it like Amare. Lee is so overrated.

I'm like Mary. I rather roll the dice for free than pay 55 million to roll them on Lee!

No thanks to Boozer - don't like the guy enough for the money he gets. I like Lee, ands encouraged to play D, he would. Always looking to improve his game .... I've never seen anyone pushed to play D by D'antoni

he would fit in here very very well, great attitude and character

really love the idea of getting TWilliams from NJ. Yi and some picks for Stat

I'd only do S7T Amar'e to Knicks if we got Chandler back, and Walker.

Give me Yi, Sarver would love that guy here.
I certainly don't want Lee or Boozer here.

Unfortunately, I think the Suns will just be standing pat for next year with the threat of a lockout / new CBA coming.

I see us signing maybe a vet at best or starting a rookie / bench guy at worst.

I don't understand why people are hating on Lee. He was an All-Star without Nash. And with some random Knicks PG (who even cares who, its the Knicks). Does anyone really think that he wouldn't get better numbers here? Hes a 20-11 guy with the KNICKS! C'mon. Steve Nash would at least keep him there. maybe 23-12? If hes cheaper than Amar'e, and we can keep Frye and/or Lou, WHY THE HECK NOT?

I like Chandler. I'd be cool with that trade. Are you saying Amar'e for Lee, Chandler, Walker? I'm all for it.

Lee actually was Knicks' facilitator for good part of games, called plays, passed for backdoor cuts, made long jumpers, and scored in the low post, he was cornertsone of their offense and would be even better here, not having to guard centers, since he's a Power Forward. Elite rebounder, good passer, might play decent D on his natural position (and he did before Mike D. made him play center), he's way better than Boozer not to mention Beasley who's much smaller or Yi, who's a 7 foot shootin g guard. Oh, and Lee shoots 500 threes a day this offseason.

I can not believe JMac is still yammering about Yi.

Lee is better than any player in this thread non named Amare

I would LOVE to see him here. In fact if Amare wants max and we can get lee cheaper, then let Amare go

Like I said in the other thread...I'd gladly take Lee. Do people not realize he was 20/12 in D'Antoni's system last yr and he didn't even play with a good PG. 54.5% shooting. Even if he doesn't score 20, we know he can grab a **** rebound.

I expect us to do nothing though. It depends on the GM we hire, too.

Well, if Amare walks via no s/t we can eat West's salary. Or send em Barbosa. I doubt they'd do either. They risk alienating Paul with first one and I'm not sure if they need another guard.

I think you saw that on ESPN where we'd do a sign and trade, get nothing in return, and have a huge exception, where you take his "ugly" contract from them.

NO for Boozer. He's too expensive for what he brings. Injury prone too.

Lee maybe. For the right price.

I'd rather wait until the new CBA is established to make any significant move.

I agree with many of the sentiments here - I think Booz is overpaid but I would actually love to see DLee here. Even he is probably above Sarver's pricetag :(
