It was time to rebuild!

wHether you want to admit it or not, we were overdue for rebuilding. Good teams are usually good two to three years max. Even championship teams have to rebuild. This time was gonna happen either this year or next. Even in the Barkley years we were only great for a few years till we had to rebuild. Now the organization has to play chess and do moves to set up for a future great team. The chambers era ended, the Barkley era ended, the kj era ended, the Kidd era has ended, the Amare era is done with nash following right behind. Soon it will be a great players era. We had fun the last few years.
We may have to suffer through another 25-30 win year. But it happens to every team. This is where we separate the real fans from the babdwagoners.

Agreed...Signing Frye and Warrick was the start of the rebuilding process...

WTF dude we just did the opposite of rebuilding. Sarver made some quick fixes to salvage next season in his opinion so we won't get a top 5 pick.
Sarver thinks we can get a first round playoff series so he makes money and then sign a max free agent 2011 so we dont fall in the lottery.
Of course we won't be a contender until 2020 or something...

warrick, dragic, frye, lopez, dudley, barbosa and possibly tyrus thomas all under 27. I like our team during this "rebuild" stage.

If we wanted to be a 25-30 win team then we wouldn't have re-signed Hill and Nash. We wouldve let Nash expire and then Amare expire and JRich expire (next season). We wouldve let go approx 45m in salary and wouldve sucked so bad next season we wouldve got a high draft pick. That's how you rebuild quickly but clearly we're not going to do that.
The fact is our owner is already bleeding financially cos of the GFC (I remember reading he was heavily into property when he bought the Suns = ouch!!) he's not gonna want to take that big a hit on his NBA franchise.
I actually think we have a very deep team. It almost reminds me of the Grizzlies in the mid 2000s. One "star" player surrounded by above avg/good players. We either need to do a bit of a salary dump on some of them or trade 2 or 3 squad players for one really good player (those don't come around too often tho).
At least we're back in the draft next season and only really have one bad contract lingering around. And considering Barbosa's injury last season there is a slight chance he'll rediscover at least some of his form. He had some decent games in the play offs given limited mins.
