I'm really going to miss all those thunderous dunks and facials he served. Oh and the multitude of And 1s he was dropping. I hope NY makes the playoffs next year.

Thing with Amare is, he was in trade talks for the past few years...
Suns basically said he wasn't worth $20 million a year.
Amare likely would have signed a MAX extension if the Suns were willing to pay.
I see no reason for the Suns fans to be upset with Amare for leaving. It was the Suns team who decided he wasn't worth the MAX money. If Amare would have turned down a MAX 6 year deal from the Suns then I think maybe the fans would have a reason to be a little upset but to my knowledge he didn't.

bstein,
We offered Amare essentially a max deal I believe it was 5 years 96 million.
the last two years were not fully guaranteed though they had stipulations that said he had to play a certain amount of minutes so he could fully guarantee the contract.
ANDDDDD We had the Hedo Turkolgu deal in place before Amare signed so Gentry I think told Stat hey we're going to get Hedo so you should resign yet he didnt.
I question Amar'e's desire to win I really do. If he knew we'd get Hedo he should've stayed here.
But regardless I hope he does well and thanks for the classy letter

I just think Amare didn't want to go through all those trade rumors again. In New York I doubt they'll be trade rumors surrounding him.

Something like that ad is SOP with any player with a good PR agency.

Classy move. Wish he stayed and the Suns got Hedo, and then got Childress for MLE. Hard to imagine this team not getting far into the playoffs...
Nash/Dragic
J-Rich/Childress
Hedo/Hill/Dudley
Amare/Lawal/Clark
Lopez/Frye
