I'm a Suns fan before I'm a Leandro fan, and all I have to say is: If you play like crap before and after injury then you're not wanted here. I loved him to bits as a Suns sixth man but if he isn't earning his keep he shouldn't be around, good riddance.

+1

But keep in mind Dragic began taking serious minutes away from him. to the tune of 7.6 ppg. If you add that back to Leandro's prodcution (+/-) you wind up about where you'd expect a 30 mpg Blur to be. Back in the day, him and Diaw were it off the bench.

Always liked the Blur, though I feel his growth into a more complete player may have been stunted by our use of him early on.

I've still never seen another NBA player with the same ability to kiss the ball off the glass running 20 mph down the lane. I think people may under-estimate how difficult that is.

At the end of the day, I think Leandro wants more playing time in order to bolster his value due to the potential NBA lockout. He has a player option for the 2012 NBA season of over 7 million, but he's most likely looking for more security than that.

Both sides will benefit from his departure, IMO.

Just not enough minutes at the 1 or 2...

There's only 96 minutes there, Nash/JRich are starter level talents taking 70,

25 minutes left, which Dragic should get at least 15-20. No room for LB.

I believe the feeling was mutual. Leandro knew a more suitable and versatile Goran Dragic will be playing more minutes, and that his minutes will only go down, regardless of how he plays his game.
He knows his role and his talent (unlike Rudy Fernandez, who doesn't realize he's nothing more than a sixth man), and doesn't deserve <20 minutes a night.

The Suns needed someone to "replace" Amar'e and succeeded by taking Hedo's huge contract without receiving any picks in return. And the fans TOTALLY believed that Hedo can indeed replace Amar'e. SUNS FO RULEZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yeah. He can't be coming off 2-3 seasons of limited playing time and expect a decent contract when he's an FA again. I'm just happy that the split was mutual because I really did like him as a person and certainly didn't want us to end his tenure with the Suns on a bad note.

Leandro did the smart thing and made the right move to ask for a trade.

I guess you can't look at it like Hedu is replacing Barbs ? Essentially, we have gained a versatile 3-4 position player who can and likely will start rather than a 1 dimensional chucker who had become a black hole and a liability. So we took on a little salary, that really doesnt kick in till his 3rd season.

Keep in mind, both players wanted out...
Keep in mind, Hedu is a superior basketball talent
Keep in mind, outside of Toronto... who would want Barbo ?
Keep in mind the fragile pouter that Barbs is... and how he would negatively effect this team.

We come out significantly ahead with talent in this deal and all the ninnynaysayers can do is b!tch about Hedu's deal. For 6 mill over the next 2yrs we have Hedu rather than Barbs ? Come on....

LB is overpaid... we should end up thanking BC, for we have seen the best of Barbs... he'll be playing euro/brazil ball in 2 yrs. Good luck Barbososo.

And BTW, its not Hedu's fault he has been penciled into Amare's spot.... yet some must continually splash that spiltmilk puddle. You should realize that Hedu makes JRich expendable.... where as Barbs did not.
What ? Me Worry ?

He was still playing decent then and his trade value would've been much higher.

Good luck Barbososo.

I'm glad that you chimed in, I was trying to remember "What did Frank used to call Barbosa?"

I actually really liked Leandro, I have his jersey, but it was probably a good time for him to go. We just didn't need a tweener guard like him when we have backups that are true point and shooting guards.
