Robin Lopez is going to breakout.

Even though Amar'e wasn't really a great rebounder (  ) he did grab some rebounds. With Hakim Warrick, Robin Lopez is the best big man on the team. With his height and presence, he should be gobbling up more rebounds then last year, which will help his stats.

Your thoughts?

I agree RoLo is gonna have a breakout year. If he averages 18 and 12 and makes the all star team, I will not be surprised.

If Amare had half the fire RoLo has, we would have won a ring by now.

Sometimes desire is more important then skill.

18/12 would be pushing it. I have realistic expectations of him averaging 14/8/1.5blks in 28mpg.

please dont try to front like Amare didnt have fire. amare was scared off getting injured on defense and do you blame him. As for Rolo, He needs to step up. I think his biggest weakness is consistency. U have to be crzy productive and consistent to avg 18 n 12 for 82 games. I would go 15 and 8.

He wasn't scared. He's just slow. Not physically, mentally. He doesn't process defensive adjustments as quick as other players, which is why he's ALWAYS late or out of position. It isn't because he's scared of a little contact.

While I think Robin really does have the potential to improve (and so he should really aim to do with the team as it is now), I think all-star is pushing it. He averaged 8/5 for us when he played last season, which was decent for what we needed him to do. Obviously, scoring isn't going to be a big issue with him, as we can move the ball through other guys for points, although he may come up alot for p'n'r with Nash/Dragic.

I'd like to see 10-12/8ish and I'd be happy with some real solid defense down low.

Oh, and let's see how he handles playing a proper schedule again after his back injury. That needs to be taken into consideration too.

Rolo was ranked 22 in yahoo sports basketball blog's top 30 centers list.

22. Robin Lopez(notes), Phoenix Suns (last year: unranked)

Finally figuring out how to rebound, Lopez improved in his second season with the Suns with only a scary back injury holding him back. He's learned a nifty little line-drive jumper, he moves his feet while defending well and he took to the defensive glass with abandon last season after looking terrible in that regard during his rookie year.

Looking forward to seeing Robin operate next season. I bet this summer he's been working hard at his post game, as he is now our primary scorer down low. I see him getting 16,9,1.5 if he stays healthy.

Nooooooo! Don't make Brook look bad!

I hope Robin and Brook break out, it would be awesome for both teams involved.

both guys are different but I dont think Robin will be as good as brook on offense. I think Robin's potential is that off what brook is doing now so I doubt he will make him look bad.

He should get 17/8 if he stays healthy and plays 30+mpg.

I don't see anymore than 16ppg. He got by last season with with a lot of put backs and spoonfed dunks while being paid very little attention by the opposing team's defence. Teams will start looking at him and will start playing defence on him properly. Without the fluid post moves of his brother or even a legit go-to move, I find it hard to believe he'll score more than 16ppg, even in 30-32mpg.

I don't think RoLo's going to put up 18 ppg next season. He won't get enough playing time due to foul trouble. And he isn't as polished on offense unlike his brother. He can score a bit in isolations because he has good size and busts out a post move here and there like that spin on Gasol. Was hitting jumpers in the Laker series too. His passing and overall awareness should get better as time passes on. I'd like to see more consistency, smarter decisions and better hands when receving passes. He seems a bit out of control to me. I'm still optimistic for next season, though.

Just wanted to post this up looks like nba.com agrees with us.. from the rising stars to watch in 2010-2011 article.

• Robin Lopez, Suns: He has a ways to go before he's the best player in his own household. But he could gain on twin brother Brook this season, or at least give the Suns an inside presence with Amar'e Stoudemire gone. The opportunity is there for Lopez, who brings good size and high energy, which compensates for being fairly raw offensively. After becoming a starter, Lopez averaged 11.3 points, shot 59 percent with 6.3 rebounds. Realistically, he's cut in the Joakim Noah mold, although not as aggressive a rebounder as Noah.

how many minutes will he be getting next year? even though there is no backup center other than Frye, I don't find it likely that Lopez gets more than 30mpg right? maybe even less ? (let's say he has no foul trouble)
