Someone, tell me why I shouldn't worry

Ok, I know it's only pre-season, but 1-5 with two ugly losses to the Raptors is hardly an auspicious start. I'm searching for positives...anyone?

I'm worrying and I never worry. I cant visualize this team doing a complete 180 for the regular season.

You guys have Steve Nash. You'll be ok.

Thank you. Finally someone else who shares my worries. Preseason don't count but it doesn't mean it doesn't matter. Even if we cut those unsigned guys out of the equation, I can't see how we could suddenly be an elite team because we have Nash and we try a little harder than we do in the preseason.

Once again, it's preseason but it should be at least an indication of the type of basketball we're heading into the regular season with. And if that doesn't alarm you, then I'm not sure we are all seeing the same team get demolished by teams we should be beating. Unless we make some dramatic turn around in our final preseason games, I think there is cause for concern.

ill start worrying when we get trashed a couple times in the regular season without showing anything positive

Not worried but concerned a little with the way we playing and getting blown out. It's okay, we'll get it together and start off the season like 8-3. No worries here

We own our own draft pick this year!

How do you figure that? We just flick on a "play well and play together" switch 2 hours before the season opener?

exactly we can go into "overrate your young players and obsess about draft prospects mode" if things really go south

I certainly hope it doesn't get to that point but I guess it's good to know we have insurance if things do go south.

I'm with the "it's only preseason" camp here. We're using it to determine a) how we'll use our role players and b) who will be cut. We're not playing an optimal strategy to win, even - just to finalize the roster.

I'm just trying to come away with some positives from each game. Gentry said that he's trimming the roster for next game and we're going to see what our actual lineups can do.
Just a little side note, but I think Nash is gonna have to develop a real mean streak, and elevate his game yet again this season, if we want to be successful. It'll be a career defining year for Steve Nash.

You should, because we are going to suck like Vanessa Del Rio!

Ironically, Robert Sarver was talking about how the team will land franchise players via FA or trades. I'm totally expecting a trade for expirings with our first round pick.
I can't help it but losing by 20 to Raptors is never ever a good sign. It's very very ugly. How can you possibly do that?
1-5?
And please get rid of Hedo. He doesn't belong here. As much as how the Suns are saying we shouldn't label our fav team's roster, the fact is someone still has to guard the PF spot. At this point, I'd rather start Warrick over Hedo. I don't care if Hedo's happy. That guy's still getting paid. Worst case scenario, apply the Eddy Curry treatment (pay him but seal off all contacts).
Perry Jones people. PERRY JONES!!!!

Me too. We always have threads like this before the season starts. Let's let the preseason finish up and take the regular season as what we base our opinions on. Granted, I haven't watched/followed any preseason stuff.
It may be the pessimist in me, but after we lost Amare, I didn't think that we had what it would take to continuing to be a strong/elite team in the west. So success initially in the season will be a pleasant surprise.

I was just going to mention that. Seems like a Sarver thing to do. Use a high draft pick before the trade deadline (With Sarver hoping to milk more money out of us before the next season starts by making a trade that we dont need a'la Shaq), then being stuck with our new franchise player ........Rudy Fernandez!

I really wish we had kept Kerr and let him take care of the off-sesaon, I dont think he would have gone for Hedo at PF he was largely responsible for shoring up our defense and rebounding
