Nash once again tasked with learning new Suns team

Great(somewhat depressing) read:

Seth Pollack wrote:"...Of course, I mean we have so many new guys. I don't think we had this many new guys last year, it was just Channing (Frye) it felt like. So, this year it seems like three or four or even five guys that are going to be rotation guys that are new. That's difficult."

Not just difficult, but almost cruel.

Nash, more than any other star player in the league, thrives on chemistry and rhythm. He is an instinctive and improvisational player who gets better the longer he's able to play with his teammates. Once he knows and feels what they are going to do and how they can be most effective, he can use his talents to lift the level of the team.

Unfortunately, as the season progresses and Nash has more time to learn his new mates his body will continue to wear down and he won't physically be able to play at the same level. So in November when he's feeling his best, he won't yet have found the optimal rhythm for leading his team.

A cruel fate indeed...

Boo F-n Hoo

More than 3/4 of the teams in the league replaced half of their rosters this off season...

Nash's 'matter of fact' commentaries are usually honest observations and are not always negatives. Aside from Hedu in Stat out, he will be playing the majority of minutes with dudes he knows.

I think what Nash will find is that defenders won't drop nearly as quickly on PnR to cover the roller and he'll have less space to operate with defenders staying on him longer. Nash is crafty enough to still make points from PnR opportunities but it'll be a lot harder. Another thing is that 3rd defender who comes in to help double on roller (used to be Amare) won't need to come in for the help anymore as Lopez nor Warrick is nearly as dangerous as Amare. This means that there will be one less open player for Nash to pass to.

This will be a big adjustment for Nash since he'll be playing alongside another player who likes to have the ball in his hands (Hedo) and it's the 2nd time since he's been in Phoenix that he hasn't had the best PnR partner playing next to him.

Nash will do fine. I remember in the 2005 days when Steve Nash was getting use to his teammates. Look where that got us. We'll do alright.
