Wish we could have kept Dowdell, Jones, and Janning. Wish them the best, not sure why Dowdell cant catch a break, he doesn't seem like that bad of a player.

What's the deal with Siler? When I saw him in preseason, he was fat and worthless. Has he gotten better? I've been busy with baseball playoffs and football.

Jones has got to be confused... signed last year and kept on but didn't play, traded, brought back, and now cut again. i'm guessing we'll try to sign him again at some point.

Not sure why Jones didn't make the squad after we went after him again. :(

Oh well, Siler and Janning will probably never see an NBA game from any closer than the bench.

Siler is going to be like collins last year a big guy to bang up the other team off the third string.

I liked Jones but I think another BIG body is more important right now.

Muscle > Fat.

For all we know Siler is an obese 7 footer who can only hit a lay up.

Siler isn't THAT bad. Plus he will be tougher to match for Lopez in practice. I'd put both Jones and Siler on same level quality-wise (but they're exact opposites of themselves). Jones got his shot at making an NBA rotation several times. He's hard working guy but has problems making any squad. I suppose it really doesn't matter who we've got. Janning is same story for me, as long as Dowdell had his chance to make Phoenix squad three years in a row. Considering the fact, that he even doesn't know, how to pass that ball, I'm quite satisfied we've cut him instead of Janning (though he's likely to spend like 20 minutes on the floor at the end of the season, if isn't cut before). We won't have enough PT for everybody - we have to fives that can play plus Clark. That's hopefully 11 (not sure on Clark yet, he has disappointed me so far) to play night in and night out. It's irrelevant who's left...

Jones and Dowdell were awful. I know most didn't like Siler but I think a lot of his problems are related to conditioning. He showed a couple flashes that indicate he may be able to develop, but it's not like the Suns will be relying on him or anything.

Siler = Jones = last person to come off bench

Don't really care.

Edit: I do care but its the 15th man on the roster. All that matters is that we have an extra big, that is decent on the court.

I like dJones a bunch, too but i think Siler just showed them, even overweight, that he's an aggressive widebody and if he gets in shape, can help us. I know I wasnt' the only one who was impressed by him - good fundamentals, rebounds with a will, gets lots of garbage/bonus buckets from going after misses. And as noted, a good big for Lopez to go up against in scrimmages

i do feel bad for Jones though -

Janning is a kid with skills, very cheap to keep, and a favourite of the coaching staff - doesnt' cost much to see if he can make the jump to the next level

I always have to remind myself that the staff see these guys waaay more than we do - I got to trust their judgement

janning wont play hardly at all this year but they like his upside. too bad he hasnt been able to play in live games after all the brilliance he showed in practice and the scrimmages.
