Troy Murphy?

Considering our serious lack of rebounding, and a true PF, why don't we pick up Troy Murphy?
He averages 14 points and 10 rebounds a game. He can shoot the three ball as well.
I think he'll fit perfectly in our system considering he can do that.
Plus Nets can use that leader-type player that Turkoglu can become in New Jersey. He's the closest thing to the next star that they can get soon right? Plus if we do a straight Hedo for Troy deal, then Nets save a million dollars in salary.
Nash, Dragic
JRich, Duds
Hill, Childress
Troy, Warrick, Frye
Lopez,Frye, Dampier (hopefully)

I like the idea of Troy Murphy for your team. He does shoot the three ball well and he is a solid rebounder. Not much for D though. But still not a bad idea. Gives RoLo some space to work too.
Not sold on giving up Hedo for the Suns. He has talent. He just isn't "really" worth his contract. Still not a bad player to have on the team unless your owner simply can't afford him? The guy has positive attributes. He obviously had a stretch where he earned at least a good chunk of that salary he gets.
Plus with Hill's age you will need a full time SF soon enough.

I've been clamoring for Troy for years.
But for the love of God, we're not going to trade someone we JUST traded for. LOL. Do you realize how bad that is reputation-wise for the team? What kind of player would want to come here if there's a thread we'll ship them off within 3 months and not even playing a regular season game?
Mannnnnnnn-oh-mannnnnn

Unless there really is a plan to use Hedo as a point forward, or in the second unit, I'd move him for Murphy in a heartbeat.

Hill is in pretty good shape. Wonder why people keep bringing up his age?

It was such a pretty bandwagon, with the balloons and streamers and everything, that I just hopped right on when it went by ....

I'd like Murphy here. But I still contend that we need a big with inside presence who can do a little PnR for our system to shine. The system is at it's best when it has an inside-outside game that stretches the defense. Right now, we're just an outside shooting team with no inside game. Troy Murphy wouldn't really solve that but I like his rebounding and his shooting will fit well with Nash.

I'll take any non-small forward any team is willing to give us. As soon as I see a big man's name on this forum all I think is; YES!
Nash
J-Rich
Hill
Murphy
Lopez
WIN! Or trade some guys for cap space and wiggle room and use the TPE on Murphy.
Nash / Dragic
J-Rich / Childress
Hedo / Hill
Murphy / Warrick
Lopez / Frye
Just kidding! Too much money to invest. But think of the offense!

Well, let's just tweak the conversation a little, to considering who exactly might be got, and how they help. Nobody that is clearly not in play - Kevin Love is pretty safe where he is, I think.
Jason Thompson, as mentioned elsewhere, is surplus to requirements in Sac.
Much as I like Murphy, I think NJ is high on him helping them a lot.
I like DWest a lot. I'd love to see him and Lopez - also he's apparently unhappy in NO and looking to become a FA.

Yeah I think Murphy is suppose to start for them since Favors is a project. DWest can be had imo but we don't really have anything NOH would want.

Murphy will be looking for a home next yr.... no point in scrambling for him now, and no real way to get him

No more 3 point shooting big men, we need a good low post scorer. Troy murphy doesn't convince me.

I would take Murphy but he is a better shooting version of Frye. I think Thompson is a better choice but can Phx really get him in a deal?

He's a rebounder. Honestly thats all I give a damn about.
