If he is indeed waived, I think he could be an option for us PF, when he was here before he played center but he is athletic enough to play PF. He played well when he was here but forgotten when we got shaq and had Amare at PF......here is a link to a story saying he may be released.....

He won't start, and he won't be second off the bench for PF, so what would be the point? Plus if Sarver wouldn't keep Jones, a player we had twice, I doubt he would go after Skinner.

I liked Skinner, but he too is undersized at the center position, and he is quite limited at scoring, which would be more of the PF skills in our system.

I would rather give that time to Clark and Lawal, then to limit their time just to get Skinner, who did just an ok job for us, and very little after us.

Ehh pass. I liked him as a backup years back but now he's just older and doesn't really fill any need.

Well actually it depends on how you view our defeciencies at PF, some people say we are going to get killed on the defensive side so we need a big PF that can defend the post because Hedo can't guard the bigger PF, some say our offense will be suspect because we don't have the low post scoring threat at PF like Amare......What is it that we need most ?? Obviously we would like to have both rolled into one player, and maybe we can find someone decent at both but that is not good enough for most posters on here, most will accept nothing less than an allstar on both ends. Well that most likely will not happen, we have to look at what is actually available to us and not all these dream scenarios that are unrealistic for us to achieve. My personal view is that we would be better off now, with the group we currently have, to get an athletic defensive minded PF with decent hands that can handle the quick close in passes from Nash on the offensive side, he doesn't have to be an big time scoring threat, just needs to be able to hit about a 15 footer for the pick & pop to keep the defense honest. I think we have enough offensive weapons in every other position outside of PF.
With that being said, I am not sure that we need to do anything yet. I think we have to see 10 to 15 games of regular rotations and combinations to be able to see if this group can compete as it stands now.

Unfortunately, it doesn't matter what I think about what we need. :( Sarver isn't going to spend the money on Skinner, and in our system he wouldn't get any time on the floor anyways.

At this point the only player we MIGHT get is Dampier. In which case we will see no PT for Siler, which is sad because having watch him at the blowout game against Denver he was bullying EVERYONE for boards and has a very nice baby hook. Runs hard getting up and down the floor too, surprisingly quicker than Robin. He's unproven but I think he just needs a chance which is what the Suns are giving him.

I really like Siler too, but am unsure if they are going to actually give him a chance with playing time, I hope so because he has the drive to succeed and the desire to prove himself.........

EDIT: Looks like he just might get some playing time. He will be on the active 12........here is Coro's twitter post

.
paulcoro Suns opening-night roster wil be the current 14 players. Siler will be among the active 12. Janning & Lawal will be inactive.
