The suns seem to always have a great point guard running the show. For me it started with KJ, then kidd, marbury, and most recently, nash. I don't think any team's history of point guards can match that top 4 of the suns.

Anyways, from late last year, it became apparent to me that in Goran Dragic, we have something special. His skillset we knew was there. What we wondered about was if he could translate his European style to the nba game, and if he had the desire to be great. We learned that he answered both of those questions in a profound way. Who else has had that kind of outburst at his young age during that g3 against the spurs. Then against the lakers and sasha, he showed he has that fire to be great. You can just tell by the look in his eye when he gets a couple shots to go down or makes a great play. Also the look in his eye when he makes a turnover, you can tell he has the "i know i can destroy these guys once my time comes" attitude.

The thing i love is how more and more we see some of nash in him. The play that stood out to me was the backdoor cut he had with Chilldress that was an exact copy of nash to barbosa back in the day (hard to believe barbosa was back in the day). And you can tell nash loves it, the first one up off his achy back to pump his fist when goran does something great.

Can't wait to see him continue development and growing up in front of our eyes. I will be very sad when nash finally hangs em up, but knowing goran grew up under nash and seeing him pull some of his old tricks eases the pain a lot. Who else is loving this as much as me?

I don't think I can put Dragic in that category. He can be special but not Kidd, Marbury, KJ and Nash special.

Nash wasn't special until probably his 4th season in the NBA. Before then, he was just "another point guard."

Who knows, Dragic could become a superstar point guard, and may even get a couple of MVPs in his career. I bet if I said the same thing about Steve Nash in his second season i would've been laughed at.

The sky is the limit for Dragic. Its up to him if he wants to work hard to get there.

Yeah, he's even picked up where he left off, and then some. Just an all around entertaining(and skilled) player to watch. He practically does something every game that will blow your mind.

Great offensive players add a new facet to their game every summer... Goran's offensive arsenal when he first came in to the league was smelling his own farts. Then he got a slick drive (but only to the left). Then he added a three ball. Now he can finish with his right, and his midrange game is really coming around. His ball handling looked out of control in Portland but against Utah and LA he got it more under control... Once he adds a tear drop he'll be unstoppable.

And I agree that his passing is looking more and more Nash like as he goes. We saw it last year too. Bill Simmons tweeted last year something to the effect that there should be a ceremony where Manu passes the most exciting foreign player torch off to Goran. Word up Bill. Word f-ing up.

They were all known for different things though. Once he gets starter minutes (possibly 2 years when Nash contract is up and he's actually old?) we'll see what he can do. Most players score/dish in bunches. They just have to be on the court long enough to hit that point. IN GORAN I TRUST!

I hope he does blossom into a special player. I think he's starting quality but those guys (except Marbury) should really be HoF'ers. There's obviously special and there's potential HoF'er special, I don't think he's the 2nd type.

That he absolutely can be.

Gogi still has some work to do but he's getting up there and soon will become a legit pg.

To me, Kidd and Steve are on a league of their own as far as Suns PG but off course ive only started watching the team since 1996. I remember KJ as being inconsistent and I remember starbury as a me first scoring guard. I think if Goran continues to adapt and play consistent. he will be good. He doesnt really need to play a whole lot of minutes like tom chambers said as long as he plays effective. the suns will always be in the playoffs in my opinion so averaging 25 minutes a game takes it toll. I think the suns have a hard time finding a legit PF now that amare is gone. I am excited to see Lawal out there playing with steve and the second unit. That guys is fearless.

Yeah but Kevin Johnson helped get the Suns to the Finals along with Barkley something Kidd and Nash have never done. I have watched the Suns since the mid eighties Kevin Johnson was definitely underrated in the NBA. Towards the end of his career he had micro-fracture surgery and was never the same after that. Steve Nash is a different style of point guard than KJ so its pointless to compare them they are both very good at their styles. Nash however has left a mark on the game that will be their forever .

the thing about goran's situation is that it is unlike any of our other pg situations we've ever had. He's an imported talent, so that alone would take a while to adjust to. Goran in his 2nd season showed he has what it takes and now already at the start of his 3rd year he's pulling some amazing moves. Nash looked weak to all of us until he left for dallas. Why can't the same thing happen for dragic. If anythiing he is ahead of nash's development, plus he is faster and crafty in his own way.

Totally agree, even down to that they're both left handed. He's picked up some Nash like passing and still needs to learn a few of the crafy moves Manu and Nash use to get in the lane

He's become a huge favourite of mine, so I'm biased, but yeah, I see Gogi getting to Manu level
