If only that trade in last year's draft went through...Amare for curry, Randolph and biedrins. Instead we basically trade amare for Turk, Childress and warrick. Wow we couldve been set if golden state wouldve OK'ed the trade. So now Nash's last few years are worthless and we toil back into obscurity for the next 10 years... the only legit pieces we have for a post-Nash future are dragic and lopez. Can you imagine curry being tutelaged by Nash?? Damn that is one helluva hypothetical...if only it happened.

I know it's done and in the past, but curry is an absolute stud and the second coming of Nash. I'm just basically saying I wish we got something more for amare, bc it's obvious were not the same team and it's not like it was back in 05 when amare was out and there was no dominant WC team like the lakers are now.

I'm more upset about not getting David Lee for 80 mil and then spending 30 on Childress, however much more Turk costs than LB (somethine like 30) and 16 for Warrick... Add it all up and it's 76-ish. Warrick's been fun and Childress is cool and all, but Lee's a great rebounder who can score in the paint. Our 2 biggest weaknesses fixed for the same amount of money we spent to make our weaknesses more pronounced

I'm more upset we didn't resign Amare for $14m per.
Oh this could totally turn into a "what you are more upset by" thread.

If only...
the doom-and-gloom crowd would chill out.
Yeah, we may never become what we were last year. But we were one of the final four teams in the NBA. We were centimeters away from going up 3-2 in the Western Conference Finals against the eventual champion.
But we're going through an enormous transition. And we have a ridiculously tough early schedule, probably the toughest schedule in the NBA so far. Don't we get a bit of a grace period?
We played very well against the Spurs and Lakers for how many issues we're still working through, two teams that are incredible right now--two championship teams that have kept core pieces and augmented nicely. Play just about anyone else for those two games and we could very well be 5-2. Our wins are all very good wins, and our losses are quite reasonable for where we're at in the season.

The summer of 2010 will haunt us more than anything. I think it'll be known as a terrible time for many years to come.

1) Amare was never, ever going to win a championship. Not a chance.
2) Childress and Warrick are very good additions.
3) Give Hedo time. He brings an element that we didn't have before.
4) Our bench is phenomenal.
5) I don't love our starting unit, but they're already improving. I think we may end up mixing and matching and improving both units.
6) how the hell does Kerrsed come up with these bizarre references?

I don't get the frustration. Warrick has definitively exceeded expectations already. Childress is a great addition to the bench with his speed, hustle, ability to post up and (eventually) his shooting. Hedo has also made a lot of 3s and is looking much better than the first games.
Amare on the other hand couldn't be insured and sucked as a defender and rebounder. I still believe we did the right thing by not signing him. Sure maybe we would have stayed contenders 1-2 more years but after that Nash and Hill will most likely be gone and after that it is just a matter of time before Amare needs another surgery.
My only worries right now are Lopez and Frye. They need to be much more consistent at least on the defensive end. I get that Lopez is struggling without Amare inside but no reason for him not to be able to box out his guy and get some freaking rebounds. Same goes for Frye, his shot may be off but my goodness, be consistent on D and improve your freaking game like Dudley.

First Hollinger rankings came out today: We're friggin 8th!! At 3-4, we're 8th. Ahead of the 5-1 Spurs. And we have no blowout wins.
Why?
1) SOS. Easily toughest in the league.
2) No blowout losses. We're playing very good teams very tough.
We start gelling a bit more, a few things go our way, Childress's finger heals, Frye starts hitting...we're top five.
I think our record is going to improve dramatically as chemistry improves and the schedule gets easier.
