RealGM

I cannot decide which phone I should get, and so far I've been getting about 50% iPhone and 50% Droid on what people recommend. So it now comes down to what the RealGm board has to say about this matter since I simply cannot decide for myself, lol.
Anyone know all the pro's and con's for each phone?

At first I was leaning towards the iPhone, but now I think I am going to get the Droid.

Wait, is the Droid X or the Droid 2 the newest phone on the market? Being gone for two months really takes me out of the loop of things.
And which one of those two are better, lol.

he also failed to mention that Droid phones have adobe flash on websites etc. the iphone does not. and if ur like me u NEED flash to do alot of things online.

The iphone is more for women. Small screen for small hands and small people. The Droid X has a big manley screen to watch porn and only big hands can hold it. Iphone is the pansy b*tch of phones

I think there is no contest according to the responses.

Im gonna lay it down for u. We have a super nerd techno freak who teaches at my school who did a presentation regarding this.

Essentially
The droid is all about features... better camera, processing rate, bigger screen etc.
The Iphone is all about funtion...Multitasking, ease of use, exellently thought out design etc.

I think the best way to describe it is the traditional time allocation during development of something is ... 5% design, 45% coding, 25% debugging and 25% testing. however the iphone is about 50% design and then the other three.

So basically ur choosing between exellent features or exellent design.

I prefer the iPhone even though I've never really liked the old ones. I think the iPhone 4 looks great, it's powerful and it's easy to use. I'm considering the iPhone and the Samsung Galaxy S right now.

The Droids are open sourced whereas the Iphone is not ! I would go with the Droid X like Kerrsed suggested.

Listen: I worked for apple for years, I've sold thousands of iPhones (I worked at the one on fifth avenue in New York, so maybe I sold millions), and on top of that, I own a Droid X. People over simplify this question a lot saying one is design the other is function.

Here's the deal: the iPhone 4 is nothing less then a beast. It's simply smoother in function, scrolling never ever lags, etc... It has an incredibly effecient OS. Now, where I live in NYC, ATT is a JOKE of a provider and drops calls ALL the time so it was a non issue for me when buying phone and staying with Verizon. Now that I have a droid X, even when the iphone comes to verizon, I won't port over.

Despite the fact that it's not as smooth in function, nor is the picture as good (that retina display on the iphone is pretty amazing), I'm a person who likes to customize. I reallllllly like it. I post pictures of my wallpaper and set up on forums with a bunch of other nerds and we exchange icons/wallpapers/shortcuts, etc... You really can have two droid x's next to one another, and they could look and operate nothing a like. Dock/no dock, changing icons, changing the amount of screens to scroll through, the style of the app drawer, the music player, the internet browser, the SMS utility, keyboards... you can change literally anything. I've seen droidx that looks and functions just like an iphone for christ sake. If you want a phone to just come out of the box and operate and not play with it much, the iphone is better. It just is. If you like to mess around with your toy and customize it and read blogs and forums to get new ideas and tips to make your phone cooler and learn how to mod things (which... it's open source... it's very easy to do and won't void a waurantee or anything) then you can't beat a Droid, and I like the DroidX the best. iPhone is very uniform. they all look more or less alike, but again, if you take an out of the box iphone and an out of the box droidx, the iphone is way cooler. after spending some time, replacing some stock apps and all of that, my music player is cooler, my internet browser is way cooler, and the whole look of the Droid is just cooler.

Check out Androidcentral.com , go to forums, look around for people posting their homescreens, and look at how much you can customize.

ive got a Droid Incredible and i absolutely love it. I have never had an Iphone but i love the things my Droid does. everyday there is something new i learn about my phone and its functionality.

also a tip - if going with the droid try to stick with either the Motorola made droids or the HTC ones because the UI is better.. samsung tries to implement its own UI in their phones and everyone i know that has a galaxy s hates the UI.
