Would you trade Dragic for Love?

Post#1 » by KopLegend » Sun Nov 14, 2010 11:08 pm

If Minnesota's GM offered you (Phoenix GM) Kevin Love for Dragic + Clark (filler), would you accept? why or why not?

It's purely a curiosity question as this will never happen. I just want to see how highly you guys rate Dragic. Would you be willing to trade him for a quality young rebounding machine?

Great question. I probably would, just because...well....we've needed rebounding ever since Charles left, and rebounding wins games.

But Dragic is just...a Dragician.

I really don't know.

yes

we need rebounding

Love is very good at that

both are young so the rebuilding thing is neutral

I probably should say yes, but I can barely bring myself to do it? Truth is, players who can get 30 rebounds are few and far between and it's a huge part of winning - getting the damn ball. Dragic gives every indication of being an exceptional backcourt player but Love is a rare beast, and he can get better.

So yes, but I cringe as I say it

On a irrational level, I love watching Dragic and I think he's going to be a fantastic PG, and one of the more exciting players to watch in the game and I would have no urge to trade him.

Stepping back, Dragic is a very good talented PG, but Kevin Love is one of the best rebounders not just in the league, but in the last 20 years of the game. And even though he's not the best scorer he gets to the line enough to offset his efficiency numbers. And really at the end of the day he's got 20/17 numbers when playing over 30 minutes a game. You can't turn that down.

Either way, I'm glad it wouldnt come down to that. The Wolves are stacked in the guard slots.

No. I think a pg is more important to a team than any other position. If Nash was a bit younger, then yes.

No it's not. We've had superstar/HOF point guards for 20 years and we've had a rebounding problem for a majority of those years.

^We've never had bad pg's. I think it's more of a grass is greener on the other side sort of scenario.

Fact is goran is a true point guard. He defends and rebounds well. He is a leader of his unit. As far as point guard goes he may not be able to be a franchise point guard but Im going to decline. I think Goran has not showed a great Point guard game but he did take over IN THE PLAYOFFS in 2 games vs the spurs who has 4 championships!! Love may be the best rebounder in the league but he still has yet to prove himself to be as a true 4. when I mean true PF- im talking about taking over games. Frankly, every championship team needs a true point guard and a true post threat. I do not see Love getting double teamed any time soon. U guys are just infatuated with his game because he does the best at something the suns lack but if you analyze it deeper. Goran skillset vs Love skillset its not as easy a trade.

I agree with the grass being greener on the other side. Kevin love and AL jefferson played with each other yet they were a lotto team.

Fisher? I think not.

Right now I think it is becoming necessary to have a great point. Especially with all of these talented new comers. The league now has Paul, Williams, Nash, Rose, Jennings, Evans, Westbrook, Parker, Brooks, Wall, Bledsoe, Curry, Kidd, Billups, Collison, Nelson, Harris, Rondo. These guys are no slouches, adding who ever else will be coming in next year's draft. A lot of point guard now a days can take over games, especially if the opposing player is weaker. Hornets would give the Lakers fits because Paul out classes Fisher. If we get rid of Dragic and then Nash retires and we have a mediocre point, we could be screwed. There are a lot less dominant bigs than point guards.
SHAZAM!

Suns traded Mikal Bridges, Cam Johnson, Jae Crowder and 4 1st round picks and a swap so some Vegas Bookies would like us.

Without hesitation...I love Dragic, but Love is younger, can play both PF and C, and you very rarely get bigs for smalls

Think about it though, MIN doesn't even look at it...and the other 28 teams - I'd say 25 want Love before they want Dragic...
