With the addition of Marcin Gortat do you think he'll still be in our long term plans?

Why wouldn't he be? Gortat just adds depth, he doesn't replace RoLo.

I am curious about what our team will look like now. Did we just get bigger? Are we actually going to rebound? Is that defense? What will VC/MP bring to the offense? It's exciting and new!

Damn...Gortat isn't THAT good. Robin brings great energy--from what I've casually observed that is.

I just think due to the lack of big men in the league he'd be a valuable trade asset in future deals that the Suns might be doing OR he under performs big time and get's canned.

Slowpez+Vc+magic 1st for Jason thompson+Dalembert. Still an expiring, still could go after Gasol in offseason. Gortat, Dally center tandem. Next year, Gasol, Gortat center tandem.

Ya you guys got bigger. But is Robin a good shooter, like Brook?
Gortat is not great offensively, and he does better off of broken plays or from being set up. He's not going to back down, face up other bigs often. He occasionally gets a step and has nice touch around the rim.
His shooting is so-so, but he rarely displays it in games.

I'm just asking about Robin because if he can shoot, he and Gortat can both play at the same time.

Gortat will soon become the Starter and get majority of the minutes. Lopez is not a legitimate starter in this league, he's just not. He's still raw, clumsy and can't even catch a basketball properly. He was the Suns center by default because we have no one else with size. Gortat is more athletic, is a better defender, is a MUCH better rebounder, and he has good hands - he can actually catch a basketball when it's spoonfed to him by guys like Nash. There's a reason he was hot commodity last year when he was a free agent, the only reason he hasn't gotten more playing time and really blossomed is because he's playing behind the best Center on the planet in Howard. Van Gundy is more upset in losing Gortat than losing Carter and Lewis.

+1... Gortat will also improve offensively playing with a legit PG. Jameer was a shoot first player. He should be starting soon.

Yeah Lopez isn't too great, I personally don't like him but thats just me. If we do make another trade, I wouldn't be shocked to see him involved.

Someone needs to work out a NYK-PHX-ATL-DEN trade that moves Lopez, VC, ORL/PHX draft picks and Warrick for Al Horford, Jamal Crawford and Anthony Randolph

Nash/Dragic
Crawford/Pietrus/Childress
Hill/Dudley
Horford/Randolph
Frye/Gortat

That still gives us a 5 man rotation at the SG/SF spots. We need a deal that rids us of one of ours without getting one in return.
I was thinking of a couple of possible deals with Sacramento. Like VC/Lopez and a pick for Daly/Thompson or.....since they want us to take Garcia and his deal, maybe a deal of TWO of Childress/Dudley/Pietrus for Garcia and one of Thompson/Landry.
Either of those deals gives us a legit 2 deep at every position.

VC would absolutely hinder the progress of Tyreke. I cant see them intersted in him.

We still need a legit starting SG back when we trade VC despite the amount of wings we have. You can add pietrus into the mix if you like.

Absolutely. We can only have one legitimate center at a time, because we're the SUNS GODDANGIT.

Center depth? lol what's that mean?

Robin Lopez will be the starter as long as he holds up. This gives the suns an actual back up center if not a twin towers. this move was done in case Rolo gets hurt again!

I'm not taking anything away from Gortat. I think that he will fight out RoLo for the starting job, actually. I still think that you don't get rid of RoLo just because we have Gortat. You can't honestly think it's bad to have a legit center for the first and second unit...

I guarantee we will see a twin towers starting lineup in the first three games of the team coming together. I am sad to see Jrich go, but VC is a heack of a consolation prize. I think we will get as much out of VC as we got out of Jrich. Less of a pure shooter, but amazing to watch and will defenitely fill seats. PHX definitely got better. I think PHX wins this trade hands down personally for picking up Pietrus as a defensive 3-point shooting wing and the pick as consolation prizes.

oh yeah...and we got the $3 million....go Banks and Babby. We haven't seen it on the court, but I think this is a huge win for our front office.
