If anyone saw him with the Magic, they like to run the twin towers lineup with him and Dwight manning the middle.
I hope Gortat will thrive in this system!

Gortat has excellent hand-eye coordination, and knows how to control his body. He doesn't look like a goofy kid who just hit his growth spurt (Robin). He also shows a lot of heart, and doesn't look like he gives up. Suns need that.

I'd let Gortat come off the bench let him do work against inferior competition. Lopez does better in the starting lineup. I'm excited to see what he brings us.

The starting job is Rob's to lose. My guess is that he will lose it ultimately, but I think Gentry will keep him there until Gortat has proved he's the better option for the starting lineup.
I'm really excited to see what Gortat can do here, I have high hopes and it's pretty nice to get a player who a lot of us have wished for in the past, and an answer to our rebounding woes.

I just hope that all of us don't bag on him in the first couple games if he doesn't do well. Give him some time to fit in and make his impact. POLISH HAMMER TIME BABY!!

Best part about getting him regardless who starts is that Lopez can play as aggressive as he wants without worrying too much about foul trouble. I've always felt that in the past the pressure on Amare not to foul accounted for a lot of his defensive problems and was getting the same feeling this year with Lopez.

If he doesnt start right away, he will shift to starting very soon. They would be asking too much of Lopez at that point plus need him and Dragic to get some chemistry on the floor together more. Gortat will finish more games that Lopez does too imo.

Lopez has started hitting the 15-18 footer again. If he can keep that up there is no reason he and Gortat can't get significant time together.

Magic fan here....hope you guys will be happy with Gortat....Rebounding Machine and he is an above average defender and shot blocker....His offensive game is better than you'd think but we never utilized it because of....you know....Is he gonna start cause i would love to see him get a lot of minutes so i can see what he can really do....By the way Gortat himself said that his preferred nickname is the Polish Machine lol

Gentry said that Lopez will be starting but it's conceivable that Gortat will work his way into the starting lineup if for no other reason than he is easily the best rebounder on the roster.

Maybe I'm alone in noticing this, but I think Lopez plays much better with Dragic than with Nash. Dragic's passes aren't as "sharp" I guess is the right word as Nash's it seems and Robin is able to handle them much better. Whenever I see Nash trying to run the PnR with Robin he almost always fumbles the ball and looks completely awkward, but with Dragic's dribble penetration and bounce passes, it seems he is able to handle them much better. The chemistry with Lopez and Dragic also seems to be better as they are often on the same page it seems.
I like Dragic + Lopez and Nash + Gortat as our PG + C combos, hopefully it works out that way in the future.

I reckon Gortat will start within 10 games of becoming a Sun.
However, Robin did well today (granted Kristic didn't play) so if it fires up Robin, it's a win/win either way.
