Carter may be heading for knee surgery

Post#1 » by Mr. Sun » Tue Dec 21, 2010 6:52 am

The stellar play of Grant Hill, Jared Dudley and Josh Childress is all the more important with the Suns and Carter considering arthroscopic surgery for Carter's troublesome left knee that could put him out for up to a month.

at least it makes the wing rotation easier to figure out. Once he's rehabbed it'll be nice to see what he brings though. Doesn't Pietrus have some sort of injury going on right now too?

We don't really seem to need him right now.

That would suck if it happens, I was really looking forward to seeing him play in our system. Oh well, might be just what he needs, hopefully he can bounce back and get some bounce back from this surgery.

We definitely need him to make a playoff push or it also kills his trade value.

The crazy thing is Magic medical staff brushed it off as sprained knee and had no idea of any loose bodies/structural damage.

That's because they're not led by Father Nelson. The guys incredible. I expect Carter physically to be playing like he's 29-30 when he's fully recovered. Just like Grant and Steve pretend to be 5 years younger than they are (and Shaq back when he was here). Just needs to have his head in the right place and he'll be a big piece... If not he'll be a big expiring. Is there anything bad about this situation!?

Great, now we can't even trade him immediately.

The thing is, it's up to Vince. It's bothering him, but if he wants to he will still play.

IMO he should definitely get it done ASAP and start rehabbing. Probably be back after AS break. I think MP can definitely fill the void and chip in ~15-20 PPG. And Marc will be a legit double double.

Yeah guys, I'm pretty sure VC's going to test out the knee for a couple of games, and if he feels good he'll keep on playing.

I'm sure he'll play on thursday, but although I'd be sad to see Vince miss a month, it'd be better in the long run if this team needs an extra push as they race towards the playoffs.

Honest non-threating question. Player fan? Or do you have a team? Not that it's a bad thing, just curious

Pietrus has never averaged more than 11 a game in his entire career. 15-20 in what I assume will be 20 minutes off the bench isn't gonna happen. Marcin's double double might not happen due to sharing minutes with Lopez but on a per minute basis he'll probably be very very productive

No worries, I'm a player fan. Not afraid to admit it. My family had moved alot throughout my life so I was never stuck in one place. I grew up as a NBA fan when VC started playing. Been following him ever since.

But, if it's alright, I'd now like to be called a sun's fan as well. ;)

I really hope VC plays on Thursday. I think he will.

Damn, the Suns medical team speaks for itself. They spend one day with Vince and this surfaces, but 2 months in Orlando and they didn't find squat.

Fixed

I wonder if the trade would have still gone down if they knew about the knee ahead of time. Obviously there's a salary dump facet to the trade but I'm sure Phx FO thought Vince, MP, Gortat could collectively replace JRich/Hedo's scoring.

And just for Phx fans to know, Vince never once complained about it so it's quite a shock

I agree with you. I think he will still play on Thursday, maybe a few games after, then they will take a second look.

pretty sure the suns could've nixed the trade since they found this injury during the physicals. vince definitely was not the key piece for the suns in this tr- woah, titties.
