Carter to start, Dudley off the bench

Carter will start at off-guard if he plays, moving Jared Dudley to the bench after scoring 27 and 33 in the past two games for consecutive career highs.

2nd unit needs Carter's scoring more as opposed to Dudley's hustle + threes.

Oh well

Dudley had two good games but let's not crown him yet...VC while not the guy he was 10 years ago is still having a solid season and is a future HOF so of course he should be starting over him. Dudley can still produce off the bench, hopefully he plays like he did these two games, not saying to score 20+ points a night but to take a variety of two's and three's rather than just stand behind the three point line like he was doing for most of the year.

The guy who scored 60 points over two games that we lost. Kings had a guy who did that too for a couple of seasons, named Kevin Martin. Now, if we won the past two games, I'd say we keep Dudley starting but we lost them.
I can't wait to watch Vinsanity play.

When I read the title I was raging, but after reading MVF and Q's posts I think I have to agree with VC starting. My gut still tells me that VC might be a better fit with the second unit, but who knows how VC/Nash will play until they actually get the chance to?

Oh the joys of building chemistry halfway through the season. (ok we aren't at the ASB, but it's closing fast)

People who think VC should come off the bench behind Dudley don't understand NBA basketball.

Don't understand the politics? Elaborate, please.

Dudley is my favorite player on the Suns, but Carter should start over him. Grant, on the other hand, I wouldn't mind off the bench. :)

Nash
Dudley
VC
Gortat
Lopez

This is the way it should be... otherwise our recipe for defeat is "double team nash". Sometimes I wonder about some you guys.

You know a lot has changed when MVF starts to make sense.

Don't tell the Grant Hill lovers that....I think Hill is going to keep the franchise stagnant if he doesn't come off of the bench.

We need shooting along with a shot creator. Grant is limited at both, but his mid range J and finishing is good. We have always had at least two shooters to go along with Nash except when Grant came here.

Dragic
Pietrus
Hill
Gortat/Lopez (I'd have one of those guys on the court at all times, Warrick is done here.)
Frye

Nine man rotation.

VC had his best seasons playing with Kidd, so he should do great playing with Nash.

Look how awful Hedo, J. Rich, and Arenas have shot through three games playing with Jameer Nelson. Carter was shooting 47.0% FG playing with him this year, so I can easily see him shooting 48-49% with Nash.

From the standpoint of "double team Nash and our offense is dead", I get it. I guess the idea of VC playing 30mpg is a good expectation to have, because I think he could do a lot with the second unit too.

I've seen alot of Dudley's game throughout the past season and a half and while a great player, I think it's much better that Vince starts.

With Vince starting, you have a legit scoring option that can take the load off of Nash, and help create his own shot, and have someone that can run the pnr with Lopez/Gortat.

What Gentry should do is just keep VC in the starting lineup, but take him out early in the 5th or 6th minute, and put in Dudley.

then in the 2nd quarter, let VC run with the 2nd unit so that way, we have a legit scoring option in the 2nd unit.

Then in the close games of the 4th quarter, if we want to run small and need buckets, go with this lineup:
Nash/Dudley/Vince/Hill/Frye

but if we want to man up and go big, play:
Nash/Vince/Hill/Gortat/Lopez

just my suggestion. Also with this extra rest, I hope VC plays on Sunday!

vc can create his own offense, which we realy need after watching the last game. it doesn´t mean that dud won´t get enough minutes, i guess he could back up grant and vc. but again, we are talking about vc, one of the better players who ever played this game.

The only reason hill starts is because the Suns think that he can't get the same jump he gets when he starts. I remember last year them saying that he doesn't have any energy when he comes off the bench.

The problem is not his shooting %, he has a nice stroke and sure he will get more wide open shoots while playing with Nash. The problem is his inconsistency. One night he scores 40 , the other night he hits 1-12. The most importantly he is hot against scrub teams and disappears both end of the court when the things get tough.

I think in order to boost his confidence Gentry will give him a shoot and he will start over Dudley in next couple of games. He will work ass off and spark at the beginning but dont know what will happen in long term.
