So I just read a RealGM topic about the Rockets shopping everyone. Could put together a package for Scola, but also, would he be the answer to our needs? Personally, I think he would be a much better fit than Brand or Randolph. What do you guys think?

No. I don't want Scola or Varejao. I think the Suns need a dominate inside scorer. I just think Scola is another dirt worker, which is fine, but essentially, in the playoffs I don't see him making much noise.

I remember in the offseason there was speculation of Phoenix going after Dirk to fill the 4 spot and there were people saying it would be a bad move. Do you guys still think it would have been a bad move given the team's current direction.

lol @ us having a realistic shot at landing dirk at anytime. He was going to the Mavs no matter what. Scola in Phoenix would be great but he's aging as well..

Um, who said that would be a bad move? You've only been here since yesterday so how would you even know? Lol. Unless you are someone else...

We're asking them to work with impossible though. I'm sure Yao has paid for the very best medical treatment and his feet are just done.

Scola is a talented inside scorer who can also shoot, pass, and he hustles/rebounds. Scola would be an absolute homerun on this team IMO...Some of you guys make me shake my head.

If the Suns still had Amare, then I would love to have Scola. But Scola being our number one option for inside scoring scares me, especially when you consider what the Lakers, Spurs, and Mavs have.

Scola is better in that regard, and it's not like the Suns run the ball through the post anyway. Um no? Amare is a beast, and is the most dominate inside scorer in the league. Of course he is a turnover machine this year, he doesn't have Nash to distribute the passes, and has to create more of his own shots, yet he is still averaging a significant amount of points, while shooting a high percentage.
If the Suns weren't planning on making the playoffs, then what would be the point of adding Luis Scola..? That just doesn't make any sense.

Amar'e has always been a suspect ball-handler. The guy has never once averaged more assists than turnovers--Never once. Some of you here act like Amar'e has a classic back-to-the-basket post game and bulldozes his way through the league like a prime Shaquille O'neal. Amar'e can fill it up, no doubt--But his negatives outweigh his positives frequently.

The reason you attempt to acquire Scola is to improve interior passing, rebounding and post-scoring; in hopes that we can dig ourselves out of this ditch and make the playoffs.

Lol at acting like scola would be better for the suns as an inside option than amare. You have got to be kidding right? Amare is one of if not the best offensive big men in the game. Amare drew an instant double team I don't see scola doing that and we don't need another passer we need a finisher.

I never once said Scola is a better inside option than Amar'e, and I never said Scola is "better for us" than Amar'e. Blatant misquote. I simply indicated that Scola is a more responsible ball handler. Now if you haven't noticed, fewer turnovers = more possessions. Scola is in fact a finisher in a myriad of ways including a sweet jumper that can be executed quickly.

According to 82games.com, 48% of Scola's shots are considered "inside shots", while only 35% of Amar'e's shots are considered "inside shots". So if the posters here are truly looking for "inside scoring", then Scola is an extremely viable option.
