Josh Childress PT

Post#1 » by MrCheckOne2 » Fri Jan 7, 2011 5:41 am

Why isn't he playing?
To me, he seems to be athletic, a good post up player for a wing, he always crashes the offensive boards, he's pretty decent defensively, and when he gets a board/pass/ or drives down low he goes straight up looking for contact.

I don't get it. I know Hill/Dudley are playing great, but I think Childress deserves a shot by gettin some consistent minutes.

confused with childress?

Post#2 » by teamsteven01 » Fri Jan 7, 2011 5:45 am

I am a little confused on our plans with Childress... I really believe that when he has played this season, he has been awesome, why is he not getting any playing time? He reminds me of a much better Lou Amundson, hes always tipping balls, getting rebounds and hustling.

Pietrus...really? He can score...sometimes, he is dumb, always.

If they are planning on trading him, they should just do it. If im not mistaken didn't we sign him for several years?

This is so frustrating and dumb.

by the way, if we would have had Gortat last year for the conference finals...we may be champs right now haha, he played Gasol really well last night.

In conclusion we should be playing Childress a lot. I don't think anyone can disagree with me.

He sure deserves more than Warrick and Pietrus.

Childress deserves it over Warrick.

Unless we're shipping him out soon.

he can´t play the pf position. we are stucked on the 2/3 with carter, ghill, dudley and pietrus. so why complaining, trade him alongside lopez for a legit pf..

Props to the great one

I honestly don't like him all that much. He hasn't been that great a defender. He can only score 6 inches away from the basket. He brings the ball up like he thinks he's a point guard, and then either gives it to Dragic or coughs it up. I just don't like what he brings

he should be playing instead of Warrick. Go small. He brings more to the court anyways as a 4 than Warrick. Otherwise we just have too many wing players.

Play him at the top of a 2-3 zone with Nash. Put Carter, Frye, and Dudley along the bottom. Enough size, rebounding, helpside defense, etc. Then Chilly and Nash can run out on rebounds and turnovers.

On offense, run PnR with Nash and Chill, with three 3-point shooters around the outside.

Or do the same thing on defense with Gortat in for Frye. Run Nash-Gortat PnR with Chilly cutting a la Marion.

First of all, I really really like Hill and think he should receive playing time. HOWEVER--Dudley and Childress should be playing more IMO....Even if that means cutting into Dragic's minutes as well.

I like Chilly at the 4 when we go small - good offensive rebounder, good defender, long and agile. Too bad he has zero outside shot - that really cuts into his effectiveness here

I really hope we keep him - I like his energy and his defense. Bizarre that he rebounds more than Warrick -

if Hakim can get so high driving the lane, why can't he get up there for boards?

I like childress and if we let him go thats going to be a mistake!!!!

he is young.. the only reason he isnt doing that well is when he played 6th man at ATL he was the one who always made the plays off the bench and had the ball in his hands

we let dragic have the ball...... they should give it to childress let him make plays.....

we need to get rid of CARTER, WARRICK, and LOPEZ

bring in an athletic center, and a PF

Because he is a string bean and gets pushed away, like a bothersome fly. He is a scaled down version of Mikki Moore...

sorry for the reference Tastic

I wonder why JChill hasnt seen more minutes at PF....

Nash/ Dragic/ Dudley/ Childress/ Gortat could be interesting. Someone call Gentry, add this to his list of his top 100 line ups.
