out with the old in with the new

Post#1 » by jwilb49 » Sat Jan 8, 2011 5:33 pm

reality check... was something that hit us all last night.... ill admit steve nash has been good and is the face of our team.. but u cant keep him forever.. its not about loyalty, its a business about having the best team.. one thing also is i respect grant hill but with him we arent letting any of our players we are suppossed to have a future with get in rotation.. earl clark was one of our future plans and look gentry didnt play him and he is getting playing time and putting up good numbers on a contending team!!! For you to get better you have to develop young players, you cant just knock down their confidence and bench em............ my opinion is do not ruin childress. he is a good player.... and do the right thing .. you cant build around a 37 yr old veteran and however old hill is........

Hill is 38. I think Nash/Hill would be paired together in any Nash deal.

Couldn't agree more . With Sarver it's been about selling tickets first and the Suns upper management just needs to realize that it's time to fold before the value for Nash and Hill in a couple years will be nada. I'd rather watch a young team build a future for the Suns franchise rather than drive the Chevy till it's got 180 thousand miles on it. That's just me though.

Uh Oh! All the Grant Hill kool-aid drinkers gonna flame you for insinuating that Suns should either bench or trade him in favor of developing younger talent. I LOVE GHIll! Having said that I have felt that we should put him on the bench and let younger talent develop. Yes, even if Hill can score more points than Chill, let Chill start at SF and Hill come off the bench. Why is Hill still starting? Is he playing well? Answer: yes he is playing well. However he is playing well on a team that is spiraling down the toilet. Let younger players get PT so we can develop for the future.

If he made this thread 15 games into the season, I could see his point.

Now, when we're in playoff contention, with Nash healthy and the team getting better and better after every game, this thread just sucks.

Did you actually watch Clark's appearances? Or do you just look at the box scores?

It was hard to watch.

Orlando has a different system, and he was given a lot of chances here. Maybe the different style helps, maybe the coaching is different, maybe he felt a greater need to prove himself, maybe all of the above and more.

But anyone who's been watching the NBA for a few seasons knows that players are not a constant value. Boris Diaw on the Hawks was the worst player on the worst team in the NBA. Then he came to the Suns and became a stat stud that could be started in fantasy leagues at any position.

So consider that before retroactively cheerleading one of the biggest draft disappointments of the last few years.

I think you guys are cool and all, but I kinda wish you were losing games right now just so that you'd have incentive to trade your old geese to Orlando :D
