I'm Sorry...But I just HATE Sarver

Pointless thread...I know...

But I just have to vent and say I hate this man. He has ruined my beloved Suns. Why would Colanango sell the team to someone like this? Why would anyone buy the team if they aren't interested in winning.

I live in Phoenix. I will not give this franchise a DIME until Sarver sells the team (won't happen) or he changes his ways and starts bringing in top notch talent.

I don't think Sarver has offered a MAX deal since he became the owner. Not ONE max deal. Amare extension does not count. No MAX free agent deal has been offered since hes been here. Superstars like JJ and Amare are now gone. Countless draft picks...gone. We could have had Rondo on this team...I'm just so upset...I hate Sarver. I hope hes happy with what hes done. Every game I watch him sitting in the front row, staring at this balding head, hoping that fans around him are shouting their hatred for him in his direction. Mod me if you must...but Sarver...GO TO HELL!!!!

I'm not an apologist by any means but I think the scouting for the draft has hurt this team more

Instead of Lopez/Dragic/Clark would a trio of Jordan/Blair/Holiday or Mcgee/Budinger/Lawson have been better?

Not just yes, hell yes

Come on--DeJuan Blair was passed over by everyone at one point. Some teams passed on him TWICE.

Chase Budinger--Same deal, this guy was the 44th pick in the draft. He was passed over twice and even three times by certain teams.

The draft is a total crap shoot, and I've heard some executives say they don't like the draft at all. The only real benefit is if you know for a fact that you're acquiring an all-star calibur player or if you find a player in the 2nd round that happens to produce--But those 2nd rounders are just prayers anyway...You can't really predict that type of thing. The Suns weren't going to try to develop guys like Lawson or Holiday, because at the time Phoenix had Leandro Barbosa and Goran Dragic developing under their MVP calibur PG, Steve Nash. The team was trying to win in the moment, not develop a glut of guards...

That was just an example, would have been nice to have had one of those guys at least :(

You cant bring up the exceptions to the rule to change the rule. Those players are all exceptions, which makes it sound like youre just bragging about your skills in hindsight. And nobody cares about your skills in hindsight, Mary.

I mentioned this in another thread. A few members scolded me and told me that Colangelo was not god, but he was 100% better then Sarver.

Colangelo understood basketball.
Colangelo was not afraid to spend money.
Colangelo was respected by EVERYONE.
Colangelo did not CUSS at officials from his courtside seat.

Sarver is a joke. Most professional sports owners are. In retrospect, Colangelo made a good move (at the time) selling the Suns to an Arizona native who had major bankroll, seemed genuinely interested in the team, and owned successful companies. We did not know Sarver would turn into such a cheap ass scumbag that is not liked by his staff and has no clue how to manage a franchise.

Two things during the Sarver regime I think have contributed to our troubles, and they're in fact the same mistake made twice - appointing D'antoni as GM and then Sarver acting as GM this summer. Both times we doled out contracts that hurt us badly and signed players that weren't who we needed

why the hell didn't we go after Pritchard?

but the Sarver=cheap thing doesn't hold water ,as has beenshown here many, many times and I won't reiterate

as to not offering a max deal - who should the team have offered it to? Outside of Amar'e, who they made a call on based on his medical history - whether I agree or not, it was a valid concern and i respect the necessity of considering whether it was smart to approve a commitment of that size when it couldn't be insured

it would cripple us in years four and five if he were to go down, gods forbid. Both sides made the best decision for them, in my book.

Outside of Stat, who? DLee - really nice player but no t a max guy/superstar. LeBron? Was never coming here when he could go to Miami with Wade. Who should we have offered $20mil+ per year to?
