Really interesting video showing just how dramatically differently the defense plays us when he's on, and when he's off.

The simple truth is - as long as he's here Frye has to shoot the three, not solely, but as a big part of his offense. He has to be a threat or our offense suffocates. Which is not to say he doesn't deserve props for working on the other aspects of his game the way he has, but the three is his weapon - everything else comes form that

That is pretty obvious. What the problem is that he shouldn't be our main scoring threat, but a luxury of the bench like last season. We still need that primary threat in the post, that guy you can go to when it's crunch and he'll post up his man and get the foul or the easy bucket when it matters. That's the guy we're missing.

He's too inconsistent to be relied on this heavily.

Truth. Man, I love this guy when he's on. But man, I hate this guy when he's off.
I can't remember if Frye has ever had a game where he started shooting poorly and ended well. He's always very hot or very cold. Knowing that, I really can't understand why he plays huge minutes when he's going 1/10 from three point range.

He fits in well on offense and does well enough on defense. Even when he isn't hitting his shots, players respect his 3 ball and that stretches defense.

at the author using Blatche as an example many times...............Blatche has a very low bball I.Q. and would not know what a rotation is.

Ignorant post. Blatche definitely know puff, puff, pass.

That is pretty obvious ... (edit)
Which is why I said it was "simple truth" and not string theory

Agreed, but the fact that we rely on him so heavily isn't HIS fault, you know? He's doing what he can, but sadly we have nobody else to turn to.

Its also the fault of our coaching. I mean, if us fans can notice that Frye is either really hot or really cold, than why keep playing him when is cold when we all know that its rare for him to catch fire after being ice cold.
Its like the Detroit game, everyone at the bar absolutely knew the ball was going to go to Frye for that 3 point attempt even though he was shooting like 1-10 from 3 at that point in the game. He was ice cold, yet Gentry stubbornly has this notion that Frye is our go-to-guy that can catch fire easily even though everyone else knows he won't.
And don't get me wrong, I like Frye, he looks like he cares, unlike many other players this year, and his work ethic is unquestionable as we see him trying to work on his man defense, rebounding, and post up to try to make him a better overall player. However, he is simply not a go-to-guy nor someone that can be counted on to consistently carry our offense in every game. He is simply being misused by our coaching staff.
