Is Dragic Untradeable?

Back when we were in panic mode, we were willing to do about anything to get a Jason Thompson caliber player to fill the PF void...except trading Dragic. It seemed to many of us after his amazing playoff performance, thought that he was our PG of the future. I remember even a thread that asked if we would give up Dragic for Kevin Love, and some of us said no! I mean, I thought he was epic in the playoff last year, and I was pretty high on him aswell, but after his less than stellar play so far this season and our team's improvement recently with Dowdell running the second unit, I ask...Is he still off limits? I know a lot of people have been voicing their thoughts that we should draft a point guard with one of our first rounders, so where would that leave Dragic next year if we did that. Basically bottom line, is what do you see Dragic's role in our franchise's future as?
...Personally I'm starting to question whether or not he is capable of running this team in the future

I wouldn't trade him for Jason Thompson, but Kevin Love? Good lord.

Not unless we get a steal. His stock is low now, so no point. I'd like him to be our starting sg next year along side Nash.

Yes he's tradeable but not for JT. His value is terrible right now.

It's not really about Jason Thompson for Dragic, I'm just trying to gauge if we've fallen out of love with him, or do we still see him as the heir to Nash.

He's just not given consistent minutes with our stupid owner who wants to barely make it to the playoffs and suck.
But now that Dowdell's playing well, I honestly don't know....

i would love to see him as our 2nd unit off guard before trading him. right now dowdell is having success. and everyone watched the game vs utah knows that channing is no starting pf - so we have a need for thompson

Dowdell's been OK but we needa get another PG if Dragic gets traded, not sure he'll keep it up.
J-Chill+Dragic for J-Thompson+Udrih

It depends. Is Dragic happy with a bench role for the next few seasons, waiting for Nash to retire? If not, I don't know, but if there is a good offer for him, I think I would take it.
The emergence of Dowdell has really given Gentry a big headache now. Dowdell is a better playmaker, and arguably a better defender. It would not be right if Dowdell is limited to DNP-CD's for the rest of the season when Dragic returns. On the other hand, Dragic is only getting around 10 minutes a game anyway.
The best option is for Gentry to use Dragic the same way that DA used Barbosa. Use Dragic as just a scorer off the bench. That is the only way Dowdell and Dragic can co-exist.

Not this year; I am done with trades. Like someone said, he can play the LB role and give Vince less time.
Goran can handle the ball and plays well off of Nash and I am sure Goran will be like Lopez; he will feel the pressure of someone taking his job and start to play better.

"The emergence of Dowdell".
Dude has had like...2 good games. Come on guys....you don't move Goran because you're banking on Dowdell becoming awesome due to 2 games. If we're using a 2 game sample, then Goran shouldn't be moved for anybody but a top 15 player going off his playoff performances.

im not that big of a dragic fan
id take a solid PF or PG for Dragic
considering how much people like him, i think we can get a steal (IMO)

Dump him. Really. I know we love our Slovenian hero, but come off it now. He's regressed from last year, he's not effective at doing anything and seems kind of depressed and not confident with the ball. I'd easily trade him, he's not worth developing. How many amazing PG's are in the league? Plenty. How many will be COMING into the league? Plenty. He's not worth it.

Its crazy that people are giving up on goran. The guy has had a tough season, I still think it is too early to give up on him, and way too early to say dowdell is doing good enough. The guy hasn't impressed me enough for that.

It's not crazy, he's had a rookie and sophomore year. A sophomore slump is infamous in the NBA but it's year three.

I'm sure people were ready to give up on Rolo last year in the first half of the season, and then what happened? All I'm saying is give him time he is young and under a lot of pressure. It seems like he got more minutes last year though.

I've not given up on him yet. People remember last years "playoffs", but he wasn't really that good in the playoffs. Just in Game 3 at SA and a couple of Lakers games.
He was REALLY good though, throughout the regular season.
I wouldn't trade him at all. He is cheap now. When free agency comes, we'll see how much he asks.
