I agree with pretty much everything the guy said. Blake can score like Amare but can also rebound, assist and defend, this kid is going to be amazing once he figures out all the little things.

Just few words put there on the internet. Everybody who watches basketball could do exactly the same comparison.
That said I didn't find it that accurate (or interesting). There isn't single part focused on BG's unselfishness, bball IQ, handles (I really suffer from Amare's turnover prone high dribble), ...etc. That is far more important than Blake being slightly better defender on the perimeter...

Amare is still looking for success at any level. In high school, he led his Cypress Creak team to an underwhelming 16-13 record. His NBA career has been mixed thus far, marked by injury and early playoff exits.Perhaps most importantly, Amare has yet to show the fire required to separate NBA elite
from just all-stars.

lol I guess 2 WCF are early playoff exits. Blake Griffin is not better than Amare ...... yet!

I don't agree with the elite vs. all-star comment.

Which power forwards, to his mind, qualify as elite? Name them, and then tell me Amare is on the outside looking in.

Just saying.

yeah, clearly written by a Blake Griffin fan who wants to paint Amar'e in an average light. Amar'e has a more effective jump shot, IMO. Either way, if I was starting a team, I'd pick Blake. Even before Amar'e got injured, I'd still pick Blake. Knees aren't the reason the guy can't grab a rebound or block a shot. He can play offense just fine...

blake can rebound and pass better than amare ever could. Amare was both graceful and powerful but blake is purely brute strength. honestly ouside from dunking-Amare and blake are completely different players in terms of skillset and approach. Blake griffin has a high motor while amare never had a high motor. Amare is more of a pure shooter than blake. Amare is better offensively than blake even if he gets better amare can score at will while I dont think blake will have that same kind of offensive skill in his command. They are both exciting players to watch but hardly the same player.

Stoudemire has developed a more rounded offensive repertoire, whilst Blake, although STILL learning, is purely relying on his explosiveness and jumping ability.

Stoudemire getting injured was a blessing in disguise in a way that he developed a soft touch, a mid range and some offense within the 5 foot range without relying on jumping and exploding up.

Defense?

Blake is a better rebounder no doubt.... but he couldnt alter a SHOT if his life depends on it. It may be the shorter standing reach combined with the mentality bit.... but for someone who jumps as high as he does he should atleast get 1.5 blocks average.... Stoudemire is practically a 2 blocks a game type of player, not to mention HE does alter shots.... rebounding wise he is mediocre for his abilities and size...

Blake is pretty much an explosive version of Boozer with good passing skills.

I would say that I'd rather have Blake than Stat at this point though.
The Phoenix Suns - 54-28. Projected Record: 54-28 3rd Seed

The Phoenix Suns - 2010-2011 Projected Record: 30-52 3rd lottery pick.

I'd rather have Blake than Stat at this point too and I don't think anyone would disagree. I would also take Blake over Stat coming out of HS/College. BG is more developed skill-wise, has a much higher basketball IQ and comes with almost every single physical advantages Amare has over other players. People tend to look at Amare's offense now and think he came into the league with a lot of that but like Blake, his FT was shaky in the beginning, his mid-range shot was inconsistent and he didn't have the finesse game he has in his repertoire.

I think the thing that holds him back defensively is that intimidation factor and the fact that he has a short win-span. Amare, being the naive and "dumb" rookie he was, used his athleticism and tried to block every single shot, which lead to more block shots than Blake but also more blown assignments going for the "all-star" block. Blake will become much better and more consistent on the defensive end than Amare just by being a smarter player and a better rebounder.

I think when it's all said and done, Griffin's career >>>>>> Amare's career, as long as he gets the hell out of LA (with the Clips) and finds himself a nice fit on a team with a winning pedigree (like the SUNS!!!).

Amar'e can score much easier than Blake.
Usually when Blake scores, other than dunks, its some odd and unorthodox form of a layup. He seems to have little body control while doing a layup after posting up.
However, Amar'e has good free throw percentage, has a nice and solid jump shot that sometimes can extend to the three point line. Also, he finishes smoothly around the rim.
Offensively, Amar'e is much more gifted than Blake in terms of scoring. There passing abilities and what not are similar. Blake is only better at dribbling.
On defense, Amar'e has improved. But Blake is still better.

It's too early to tell which one you would pick straight out of HS, Blake could develop offensively like Amare or he could just be a shorter version of Dwight Howard. We also don't know how injuries will take it's' toll on him and he's already sat out his entire rookie season with a broken kneecap.
Amare is still looking for success at any level. In high school, he led his Cypress Creak team to an underwhelming 16-13 record. I had to lol at this quote, either this writer is an basketball noob or just plain biased I don't know but going into the WCF a few times is not considered success?
