Now that the trade deadline has passed and we now know who we traded and traded for, let's look at what players may possibly be released/waived that we may be able to pick up to help the void we still have at the PF spot for the rest of this year. Or do we do nothing at all and roll with what we have?
I just read a little bit ago that Leon Powe was already waived, now I don't that he would help us any, but he is one of the first to be let go......... Well along with Troy Murphy that we already know about, although it is already rumored that he is deciding between mia,nyk or bos....

I love this idea, but i just read:
Powe has been seeking an exit from the Cavs for weeks. He's expected to sign a deal with a contending team.
Unfortunately there is a fine line between Contending and pretending.

Well it's rumored that he is going to sign back with Boston, but maybe he will see that he can help us to contend ?......yeah, I know, no need to say it.....

I don't see any free agents coming here. Troy Murphy or Leon Powe are going to go to contending teams, that's the cool thing to do if you're a free agent who has any value. The rich keep getting richer.

Some players actually want to play significant minutes and not just ride the pine for a "chance" at a ring. Some want to earn it. Although there are also some that don't care how they get a ring and will go sit on the pine somewhere and get a ring they didn't really help earn. We are lucky to have one in Grant Hill, so it is possible that free agents will come here to play, everybody can't go to two or three teams.....

Yet another byproduct of this horrible, horrible Supercity NBA that is starting to form. These guys getting released are only going to ride coattails.
No more Tim Thomas-like scoops for us.

Powe already has a ring, what does he have to chase?

Another one, I guess.
....I'd love Powe here. Is he fully healthy?

Don't know about that. I think he would have a blast getting dishes from Nash, but who wouldn't? Well so far we have the same squad except Goran. But since they did very little at the trade deadline, and Denver coming out 2-0 since they traded their two best players, I don't see how we are making the playoffs this yr.

I understand what all of you all are talking about, but if I'm a free agent looking to get a decent contract next year I'm not going to any of the big market teams. I'm going somewhere I can get burn so that I can raise my stock.
PHX desperatly needs a PF. Murphy is a PF that can start. He would also look great next to Nash and Frye has clearly excelled with almost the exact same skillset.
It's a no brainer to me, but I'm not Troy fricken' Murphy.

Yep.
Troy Murphy

Troy Murphy has been bought out.
I think we should add him to our team. He is a very solid rebounder and consistent three point shooter. We can use his versatility.
Nash-Brooks
Carter-Dudley
Hill-Pietris/Childress
Frye-Murphy/Warrick
Gortat-Lopez

If we didn't have frye then I've be for it. Two 3 point shooting big men is a bit much though.

We already have Frye for what he does, and I don't think he'll be seeking to join teams that don't contend.
(this is already being discussed in the free agents topic)

Before the trade, Murphy would make sense but now with an upgrade in the rebounding department, we don't really need him.
Kelenna Azubuike was just waived

Any interest from Suns public in picking this guy up? I have always thought Buike would be great as a Sun. Consistently efficient scorer with great 3pt range and a good defender. He has been injured some throughout his career, but I have liked the guy.

He'll probably ride coattails.

I'd still love him here
You could then try sign him to something starting at the MLE, and move RoLo for either a higher pick or as a way of moving Childress/Warrick
A C rotation of Gortat/Murphy/Frye would be solid...
