Lol robin lopez is the literal definition of a stiff... the dudes a sloth lol, lets be serious here for a second. I am sp impressed w the improvements marcin has made esp w his jumer since he left my magic...I feel like you guys continuing to start lopez is an admission that your not going anywhere this yr, and your team really doesnt care abt winning....i know that must drive nash crazy

Our F.O. KNOWS he is a stiff too. Thus he relies on Nash to have any productivity whatsoever. Gortat does what Gortats do, whether Nash is in there or not. We are hoping that other teams dont notice this, so we can pawn him off on another team this summer, so ssshhhhhhhhhhhhh.......... keep it a secrete.

I suppose we're (still) hoping he would recapture some of that magic we saw last season when we made him a starter.

We don't start Gortat because Gortat can't play 48 minutes. If Lopez played with the 2nd unit...and not have Steve Nash spoonfeed him for every bucket............bad things would happen i'm guessing.

I don't see us having anything other than maybe Gortat that would interest Utah.

I hear rumblings that they might be looking at trading Jefferson in the offseason.

I like how everyone says "Oh Lopez starts because Nash makes him look good and to keep his confidence up"
Does Nash really make him look good?? He was just as bad today WITHOUT Nash as he is in the other games with Nash.
And how does a guy have his confidence up when he knows he's gonna be taken out as soon as he makes a mistake or two? Especially when he knows that there is a better center on the bench?

gortat is not starting because we need some spark off the bench. Lopez will only make our bench worse and the team can not compensate for it while if he is starting we have nash to make him look good.

Correct me if I am wrong, but if we start Lopez because Nash starts, please explain why he started today, if Nash didn't play? The truth is that Gentry sucks at coaching and he doesn't make a change unless he has to. Even if the current game plan sucks to high heaven.

We can pair Lopez with Dudley and a pick to get someone really good. Robin is a young 7 ft'er which teams love (even if he's an uncoordinated stiff) and Duds is legit, both cap friendly. Gotta give to get...

lmao
If us keeping a bench player becomes the dealbreaker in a trade that helps the team, then it's over.

I meant it's over for me and this team

Dudley, Frye and Gortat should not be moved. They are all inherently more valuable to our team than what we could get value-wise in a trade.
I understand what everyone is saying about Lopez, I do. But I think he has more value to other teams for the reasons you all are outlining when we could just as easily grab Francisco Elson (you get my point) to play backup C.
We need to reload this season, with or without Nash, and finally begin the process.
Trade Lopez for a pick, do whatever you can to draft Jimmer, and roll out like this next year.
PG - Nash / Brooks (resigned)
SG - Pietrus / Fredette
SF - Hill / Dudley / Childress (with Hill a variable)
PF - Frye / Warrick / Lawal
C - Gortat / Vet. C
I would be happy with that team and no stupid, knee-jerk offseason moves. We'd still have the MLE to use, and I've heard talk about Carl Landry, who I wouldn't mind. Obviously, y'all have heard about Millsap.
