So...do we like Frye yet??

When popular medical advice said at least four weeks, the Suns training staff said three weeks, Frye came back in two weeks.
In recent games: 14-4 with him, 1-4 without him
We're 7.75 points per 100 possessions better when Frye is on the court--second only to Nash.
Clutch??

Easy there... Those games were against
Houston
Denver
Orlando
Houston
New Orleans
Plus Nash played injured against Houston, Denver, didn't play against Orlando, didn't play against Houston and finally played injured against New Orleans.
My point being that those games were against really good teams where our PG was playing injured or not playing at all.
But I love Frye, he is playing extremely well on both ends of the floor and I believe that he is the X-factor in the playoffs (if we somehow make it there). And yeah, he is clutch as f*ck

I am impressed with him. He's no longer as streaky as he was last season or even to begin this year. He's worked on his game a lot, even after signing his deal, which impresses me even more. No longer is he utterly useless when not making his shots. He is no longer a glorified, 6'10 Eddie House. Dude can play D and rebound, and has worked on his post moves too.
Very, thoroughly impressed.

So am I, because everyone has come around to agreeing with me that Frye has upped his game tremendously - I would honestly promote him as MIP
He wouldn't win, but you could make a strong case for him. Isn't it great to see a guy try to live up to his contract?

I've been impressed with him. He's shown toughness and the ability to hold his own rebounding (on most nights anyway) that I didn't think he had. I really liked that he's doing all the other things on the defensive end of the court now too instead of just being a 3PT shooting one-trick pony.

The toughness is great too. You used to hear him be called "Charmin" Frye because he's soft as toilet paper, but the guy is always standing up for himself and for his teammates, and not afraid to mix it up with "top dogs" like Garnett.

From what i know, every summer he goes back to Por and works out with the guys there. I hope this year he picks up more post moves from LA, and can become LA-lite.

fixed
But I still hate him. Dude's mad soft. He almost costed us a game at NJ (which would have been a good thing in my books, though) because he didn't box out Humphries.
My irrational hatred continues.

Do you want him to turn into a screeching turkey vagina every time he goes up, like Gasol?

Um..I think he meant LaMarcus Aldridge.

Impressed with Frye this year.
I wonder if Frye played like this last year in the playoffs...would be have been NBA champions?
If we had that same team and had Gortat we for sure would've beat the Lakers.
Frye Gortat Dudley are the guys that have to stay for the future. Everyone else is pretty much expendable. I kinda like Dowdell too. Brooks is trash can't believe we gave a 1st round pick with Dragic.
We have such a stupid front office

Add me to the ranks of the impressed. I hadn't been that big a fan until early in the season, strangely enough, when his outside shot wasn't falling, and I actually could
see the effort he was putting in to improve defensively and on the boards. I'm thrilled to see him playing so well for us.
With Gortat, Dudley, Frye, and hopefully Lopez (I'm praying he works on keeping the ball high and being aggressive on the boards this summer), we'll have a good young core...but we need that scoring wing! I don't know who's out there, or who if anyone we can pick up in the draft, but that's going to determine our success for the next 5 years or so.
Haven't seen enough of a healthy Brooks to gauge. I like the way Z plays defense--keep him around.
We've got all the role players. Now we need a young star--preferably a perimeter player. I'll keep dreaming.

I've been impressed by him for sure
Still, he's better suited off the bench as our 6th man to be the first big off the bench...pairing him with Gortat up front obviously works best for now, but in the long run Frye's probably better suited to 25-28mins as 6th man

Just out of curiosity, would you guys still wanna trade for Milsap or draft a PF?
I like both ideas but I think Frye has made the jump to where he is a legit starter and pushing him back to the bench could hurt his confidence. So IMO we're set at starting PF.

To be honest I think we need an elite scorer/take over type guy at SG or SF...I'd make a run at Rudy Gay in the offseason. MEM will be paying Zach and MGasol most likely, so slotting Battier or Tony Allen into their starting lineup wouldn't be too much of a dropoff...
Gay + Arthur
for
RLopez + Childress + 1st?
They'd probably want more/we'd need more salaries to make something happen...
