Best Team You Can Construct

With players from the Nash era? Doesn't matter if we had to trade some to get others, just the Top 12.
Search function on the forum sucks so I couldn't find if this exact version has been done before. Anyway, I think this would be my team.
PG - Steve Nash/Leandro Barbosa
SG - Raja Bell/Jason Richardson
SF - Shawn Marion/Grant Hill/Jared Dudley
PF - Amare Stoudemire/Boris Diaw/Lou Amundson
C - Marcin Gortat/Kurt Thomas
3 Inactives - Joe Johnson, Goran Dragic, Channing Frye
There you have it. For the "active" lineup, the three point shooters are Nash, Barbosa, Bell, J-Rich, Dudley. Rebounders are Gortat, Thomas, Lou, and Marion. Primary ball handlers are Nash, Hill, and Diaw. Pick-and-poppers are Amare, Diaw, and Kurt. Inside offense is Amare, Boris, and Gortat. You've got perimeter defenders in Bell, Marion, Hill, and Dudley, and post defenders in Diaw, Lou, Gortat, and Kurt.
It's pretty much the perfect team.
And yes, I reailze that it doesn't matter, but since the board has been swamped with ridiculousness and the team sucked this year, it'd be fun to have some fun.

Shaq was better than Gortat.
And Joe Johnson was much better than Bell.
Barbosa as a PG was a failure.
Nash/Brooks/Dragic
Johnson/Richardson/Bell
Marion/Hill/Dudley
Amare/Diaw/Frye
Shaq/Gortat/Lopez
Just missing Jimmy Jackson, Leandro Barbosa, Tim Thomas, Kurt Thomas, Quentin Richardson

The Shaq that played here in Phoenix was definitely not better than Gortat...
No way Raja would get the starting nod over JJ and Jrich either...
and Lou? come on man! LOL
Barbosa running point would be failure all over, unless JJ did the ball handling/distributing
so its lookin like this
1- Nash-Barbosa-House
2-J-Rich-JJ (so he can run the 2nd team)-Raja Bell
3-Marion-Hill-Dudley
4-Amare-Frye-Diaw
5-Gortat-Shaq-KT

Of course Shaq was better don't be (Please Use More Appropriate Word).
He was our best player that year.
In his first year he put up 13/11 for us and in the second year he put up 18/9.
3 Gortat months of putting up 11/9 is not better than what Shaq did especially since Gortat is not as much of a presence inside defensively and can't really score on his own.
Call me when Gortat makes the allstar game.

The best 15 man roster I can put together:
Steve Nash / Goran Dragic / Leandro Barbosa
Joe Johnson / Raja Bell / Jared Dudley
Shawn Marion / Jason Richardson / Grant Hill
Amare Stoudemire / Boris Diaw / Channing Frye
Shaquille O'Neal / Kurt Thomas / Marcin Gortat
I pick Shaq because "Seven Seconds or Shaq" in the post-Gentry 07/08 seasonwas statistically the greatest offense in NBA history. Absolutely unstoppable. You play SSOL, and then if you don't get a good shot, you throw it down to Shaq where he just works someone in the post.
Great perimeter defenders: JJ, Matrix, Dragic, Bell, Hill, Dudley, Diaw
Great post defenders: Shaq(due to his size), Kurt, Marc, Channing, Diaw
Great depth...if JJ or Matrix get injured, you plug in J-RIch. If Amare goes down, you go small and use Marion or you plug in Diaw. If Shaq goes down, Boris, Kurt, Gortat and Frye can play center.
Offensively unstoppable...defensively, potentially elite(all the players who helped us rank top 5 in defense during the 05/06 season for a long stretch are here), tough, deep....wonderful.
And I'm keeping Alvin as my head coach, with Mike D'Antoni as his assistant, because I'm more comfortable with Alvin playing the depth that he has.
god I wish this happened.

I just realized our starting 5 is the 04/05 lineup except we've replaced Q with Shaq

What you Shaq guys fail to realize is teams PnR'd us all day because he was too slow on his feet to rotate over. Gortat is light years above in terms of PnR defense. Sure hes not as great on the offense.
Give Gortat a year to start, which he hasnt had thus far, and he is an easy double double every night. He is off the bench this year as it stands. To put KT above him, as solid as KT is, just doesnt make sense to me.
I have a hard time putting Dragic or Bell on these teams. Dragic just isnt that good, and Bell was overrated, although Suns havent had any solid 2s outside of JJ and Jrich, unless you count Qrichs 1 or 2 good years. Both are fan favorites though, like Lou, so I can kind of wrap my head around it.

It's about best team, but it's also about most likeable and chemistry. Shaq isn't likeable (for me) because of all the Laker years. The day he came to the Suns, I nearly broke down. I'm damn serious. He played well but he had serious holes in his game. Gortat is a much better fit, and can actually shoot from outside of 6 feet.
Bell gets the nod for his defense and the way he got under Kobe's skin. That alone is the sticking point. He's a favorite of the fans and guys like Nash and Leandro, the chemistry we had with him was incredible.
I'd only put Dragic on there b/c of how dynamic he is, and again, of his ability to just be a cold-blooded killer. Dude never backed down from anyone.

This. Although I would put Frye over Diaw in the rotation because of his ability to shoot the three and therefore spread the floor.
