"Steve Nash ends an incredible streak"

Post#1 » by ManuteBol69 » Thu Apr 14, 2011 12:37 am

Laker fan here but a even bigger fan of Steve Nash. If that could even make any sense lol.

Thought i'd share this article on balls dont lie via yahoo.

http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/blog/ball_d ... nba-wp1216

" For nine straight seasons — three in Dallas and six in Phoenix — Nash has led the No. 1 offense in the league. Even in 2005-06, when Amar'e Stoudemire(notes) missed 79 games, the Suns ranked first in offensive efficiency. And even in 2008-09, when the Suns' offense was supposedly bogged down by Shaquille O'Neal(notes), they ranked No. 1 in offensive efficiency. [...]

The run began in Nash's second season as the full-time starter in Dallas. Nash has not only led the No. 1 offensive team each season, but he's led the five best offenses of the last 20 years (when you compare the team's efficiency with the league average). "

Lopez can't make a difference. I don't blame him.

Just incredible on many levels. Gave him nothing and I mean nothing to work with offensively this season, and he still leads the league in assists... You remove him from this lineup an you might have the worst team in the NBA.

Easily the worst team in the league if Nash isn't on our team.

All you can do is laugh, cry, and than laugh some more about it.

The never-ending painful journey of being a Suns fan.

To be fair to Turk, it wasn't his fault. He did his best, and never once complained or anything. I ahve to give him credit for that. He handled himself very professionally.

And even though it's not a #1-ranked offense, he STILL led the 9th-best offense in the league at 109.5 PTS100 possessions.

That's bloody marvelous.

Handled himself professionally = he did what is expected of him as a player getting as much money as he does.

Sucking on the court = exposing him, again, as a limited player with a fairly inadequate ability to do anything that isn't run PnRs with Dwight Howard.

It's actually pretty easy to make the argument that he was still the best offensive player in the league this year. The problem wasn't really that the Nash-led Suns weren't the same offensive powerhouse. They were.

The problem was pretty much entirely that the Nash-less Suns were historically, awesomely, epically awful.

We're all witnesses.

The only teams worse than the Nash-less Suns were:

1) Cavs without Boobie or Parker
2) Wizards without McGee
3) Blazers without LaMarcus Aldridge
