Just curious who you guys think would win?
90s starting 5,
PG- John Stockton
SG- Michael Jordon
SF- Scottie Pippen
PF- Karl Malone
C- Hakeem Olajuwon
bench- Charles Barkley, Patrick Ewing, Grant Hill, Reggie Miller
VS
Today,
PG- Steve Nash
SG- Kobe Bryant
SF- Lebron James
PF- Dirk Nowitzki
C- Dwight Howard
bench- Derrick Rose, Kevin Durant, Amare Stoudemire, Dwyane Wade.
I personally think the 90s was the best decade of basketball so I'm going to go with them.

Not sure but it would be a hell of a game.

Assuming the today's era players would all be in their primes, how in the world did Derrick Rose make the team over Tim Duncan or Chris Paul.

90's because of one man, Michael Jeffry Jordan.

Surely you can put together a better "00s" team than that.
Replace Rose, Wade, Durant, Stoudemire with Paul, T-Mac, KG, Duncan. Replace Howard with Shaq
Nash/Paul
Kobe/T-Mac
LeBron
Dirk/KG
Shaq/Duncan
now that's a much closer comparison if they're all in their primes.

Why tmac over Wade?

T-Mac's peak (02/03) was one of the greatest seasons put together by a wing not named Michael Jordan. He hasn't done much since, but he went supernovae for a while and that's the version I take over Wade.

I still think Tmac is one of the most overrated players in quite some time...I'll take Wade over Tmac. But the bigger issue here: How were Shaq AND Duncan left off the OPs list??

90's because of Hakeem and prime Shaq. Otherwise, it could have gone either way.

90's team is much better defensively and they have the goat.

90s team has played together and will win. what rules though? 90s nba rules or today? its a lot easier to be a perimeter player nowadays than jordan's time.

When I say "Today" I'm talking about this past season.
I don't know about you guys but I'm not going to have this seasons Duncan, Tmac, or KG on my squad. Chris paul was tough but I would probably go with Rose

Well that's not too fair now is it? Primed greats vs. this past season's allstars? I'd take the greats. It would be better to do both in their primes, as long as their best seasons were in the 90's and 00's respectively.

90's and regardless of rules. Think about it. If 00's played with the same set of rules they would be hammered and whinging all the time, where as if the 90's played with the rules today MJ, Scottie and GH would DESTROY.

I mean, you're really just talking about the '92 Dream Team vs. the best of what we had over the last decade.
PG - Magic Johnson / John Stockton
SG - Michael Jordan / Clyde Drexler
SF - Scottie Pippen / Larry Bird
PF - Karl Malone / Charles Barkley
C - Patrick Ewing / David Robinson
What do you match up with that?
Nothing, really.
Maybe:
PG - Jason Kidd / Steve Nash
SG - Kobe Bryant / Dwayne Wade
SF - LeBron James /
PF - Tim Duncan / Dirk Nowitzki
C - Shaquille O'Neal / Dwight Howard

clyde "the glide" my all time favorite player ... and one of the most underrated. To be honest I'm watching NBA since 90/91 (first broadcast available in Poland:) and Today rules/players are realy soft comparing to 90's... they would destroy 00> "dream team"

The team of the 00's would be :
Nash/Kidd
Kobe/Wade
Lebron/Pierce
Duncan/KG
Shaq/Dwight
And they'd still get their asses handed to em by the 90's team of :
Gary Payton/Stockton
MJ/Clyde Drexler
Scottie/pre-injury Grant Hill
Malone/Barkley
Hakeem/David Robinson
