Sweet. I'll take the #5 for Nash, and then trade Gortat for the #2. Dwill, Kanter, and Fredette (13) here we come!!

Yea except Toronto would have no interest in trying to make us a better team.

They don't want Nash. A 37 year old PG? The only benefit for them would be that maybe like 2 or 3 more fans would show up. And since their not all about $$$ like Sarver, its unlikely that happens. They probably would rather rebuild to contend for a title.

Sunsfan, you are insane if you don't think that Brian Colangelo and everybody in Canada wouldn't wet themselves to have Nash come play in their arena 41 times a year. Guaranteed sell-out everynight celebrating with Canada's most celebrated basketball player ever and 2-time MVP? They would love it. How much would they pay to get it is a different question, but they would LOVE IT.

Wow. Nash responded diplomatically to a Toronto fan. That certainly warrants a new thread.

What if there is something in the works with TOR and this is Nash's way of letting the Suns off the hook for the enevitable pr backlash? I have always thought that if we are going to trade Steve Toronto would be the likely partner. Trades with contenders are so difficult to pull off because the contending team usually has to give up so much that they are no longer a contender. Toronto is the only non-contender that he would be enthusiastic about.

And Sideswipe is right. I don't think any other player in the league would bring the financial boost to the team. Yes including Lebron. And Nash can still play and should be able to give them several more years.

i saw him answer that question on video as i was participating in the chat where he answered the question. his reaction to the question and everything was so lethargic but he had to entertain the question. unnecessary thread. but oh well.

The radio guys here in Phoenix laughed at Nash for the #2 pick, and then immediately made a huge deal about Nash to Toronto as if it might happen--Whatever it takes to push your own agenda I guess

I thought the fan opened the door. Steve has said stuff like this forever, just a diplomatic response (as Los Soles said).

Nash is conservatively worth about 1500 seats a game - anyone who thinks he wouldn't' be a huge draw for a Canadian team simply knows SFA about his popularity up here. We haven't has a sports hero of that stature since Gretzky ...

Nash has always been very politic about questions like this - hell, it's probably even true. He wouldn't hate coming back home, he'd be close to NYC, they would surely want him to stay on as a coach if he wanted to after retiring. And if they take Vesely they need someone to get the team running ....

very valid point but i think the raptors would have to have an amazing package for us to consider. because he is fairly popular here in PHX too although probably less than in Canada.

Not in Europe, but in Brazil.

His brother said so!

His brother is his manager, right? Or manager outside the US, something like that. Apparently offering him a ton of money to come home
