Re: Markieff Morris: Your Newest Sun
Let's not get crazy here, he's not THAT bad. I see him being a rich man's Ersan, he can shoot and rebound the ball well, isn't the most physically dominate player in the draft, but he's a big guy who'll use his weight in the NBA effectively. In 24.4 minutes, he put up 13.6 PPG, with an FG percentage of 58.9. He'll never be a star, but he'll be pretty good when he's settled in.
Was hoping for Dontas or Kawhi though, but sure.
What you get with Ersan is shooting, and Markieff can do that. I think he's a lot more aggressive then Ersan, a hustle guy, he's kind of a better shooting Jason Max on the Pistons. I think he'll pan out to be a solid NBA starter, but I can't see him being a star. I like this pick, especially in one of the bad drafts in the past years.

Not a bad pick considering the weak draft. Hopefully he turns out better than his brother. Markieff and his brother seem alittle bit hardheaded to me though.
Might be a good thing because the Suns have lacked a get-in-your-face type of player.

Don't know much about Markieff Morris but what I've seen so far he looks like another Channing Frye

I get the same impression but I'm remaining cautiously optimistic about Morris.

I'm not as opposed to him as I make myself out to be. I think he'll be a solid bench big.
I just don't get why we drafted for need instead of drafting the better talent(Leonard, Singleton, his broseph Marcus)..

Because the Suns plan on keeping this team together?

I see him as a future starter, but yeah, I was hoping for Marcus if we'd take one of the twins.

It's funny because most people here probably have never seen Markieff Morris play yet are already hating on him.

No, not at all.

Please, please give him the chance to play.
Worst thing we can do is play him <10mpg, label him a bust, and then trade him away as filler.

The Suns won 40 games after trading some of our best players, then changing the lineup, starting Earl Barron and battling injuries down the stretch...Why not keep this team together? It's not out of the question that the Suns win 45-50 and make the playoffs in 2012.
Of course the short-sighted fans would much rather turn into the Clippers or Cavaliers...There's a reason this franchise has the fourth best winning percentage in the history of the NBA, and it's not because they blow it up every time the fans want to.

Draftexpress has his ceiling as Rasheed Wallace without the crazy. One can only hope.

We aren't doing anything without a Amar'e. I think most people agreed we'd have to rebuild after losing Stoudemire.

Yeah, let's rebuild every year we aren't in the WCF

And the Suns didn't "lose" Stoudemire--Phoenix knew full well what would happen to him. The front office essentially told him to walk.
