im having this debate. and i need suns fans opinions on this. i say thunder dan. he could hit threes at any angle. he is top 22 in three pointers made all time. horacek may have been the better free throw shooter and mid range. but when it comes to making threes, i gotta go with majerle.

I'd go Majerle...Hornacek to me always seemed reluctant to shoot the long ball...great %s but he never really took them at great volume whereas I think Majerle led the league once in 3s...Horny better overall shooter, but Majerle from downtown...

This would be a tough one to argue. Hornacek's shot was to come off a curl and hit that elbow shot. Majerle on the other hand was a slasher, which gave him his Thunder Dan nickname, and later turned into a volume three point shooter. When the three point line was moved in for a bit, Majerle found himself having difficulty from the new three. Once they moved it back, he did much better. Dan had an uncanny range from beyond the three point line.

So if Hornacek's game was set up differently, I think he would be my choice. He had great percentage from the three throughout his career.

Majerle was a real killer from open spot, but Hornacek was IMHO the greatest "situational" shooter in the NBA's history. Honestly, i prefere 1000 times Horny's style of play & finishing. But i can't say if he was better pure 3pts shooter than Majerle.

Majerle's shot was unreal.
