Trade Warrick for Lou

We need at least one true PF that doesn't play like a moron. I'd be willing to throw in a 2nd rounder too. Lou is just what we are missing and what we were starving for last year

I absolutely forgot that we even had Gani Lawal. Hmmm...I'd have to see him play to have any idea on him. Do you think he might get some minutes this year?

(I'd be much more willing to risk Lawal if Markieff wasn't also completely untested in the NBA. Lou's a sure thing next to Frye.)

Will Morris or Lawal ever make it as NBA players? Should we test them this year since we dont have any PF's anyway?

I'd love to get back Lou but if the Suns say they want to compete this year, is there a way to get Josh Smith or Beasley without giving up a major piece. Probably a 3 way deal ?

Lawal to me could be a lou type player. he was beasting it up in the polish league during the lockout. he's got a motor, bangs for rebounds and a good athlete. every team in the league could use a player like that.

Alright. How about we trade Warrick for Lou, have Lou start at backup 4 and have Lawal share backup C mins with siler

I mostly agree. Here's my concern.

Lou:
    Lane agility: 10.58
    Max vert: 35.5
Lawal:
    Lane agility: 11.61
    Max vert: 31.5

I miss everything about Lou. Why the hell did we let him go and then sign Hedo for 50 trillion dollars?

I think you're confused about quite a few things.

Trades don't just "happen" in the NBA. The Warriors have absolutely no reason to trade us Lou for Warrick.

And we didn't sign Hedo for 50 trillion dollars. We traded Barbosa to Toronto in a worthwhile experiment though an experiment that was probably doomed to begin with, then used him in a deal to absolutely rob Orlando and put us into unbelievable position for the 2012 FA race.

Trading for, then trading Turkoglu while getting Gortat too might prove to be one of the best moves in franchise history.

I suggested this last year. Charlie Bell and Lou for Warrick and I forgot who else. Not signing Lou and signing Warrick was a complete f*ck up in basketball logic. Instead to me, it seemed like a need to placate the fans that would miss Amare's dunks. The most moronic part about it was they knew they would start Hedo at the four, so when was Warrick going to play with Nash to be that Amare-lite?

It was a sign & trade if im not mistaken. And if you watched the Warriors last year you would know that they didn't even use Lou. They wouldnt care if they had to trade him. And we could throw in a 2nd rounder and maybe if we through in Morris as well we could get some cash

It wasn't a sign and trade

We are not throwing in any more picks. Getting Warrick and Chilldress cost us a second rounder each. But to say we don't need Lou because we have Lawal, would require us to actually play Lawal the same minutes as we did Lou. Which I wouldn't mind. In fact, I would be fine if Warrick only played if there was an injury.

No. Turkoglu restructured his deal to come to the Suns and let the deal go through, so as bad as his deal was, it could have been worse.

And this isn't NBA2k. You can't just keep adding things. Why would the Suns trade away their mid-first round pick that hasn't played at all and has a generally higher ceiling if all goes well? I love Lou, more than you could ever imagine since you're fresh (maybe, unless you're a previously banned user) here, but things like this just don't happen.

You want video game trades, go ahead and do those in the game.

I think the whole point of drafting Markieff was in recognition of the need for a dirt worker, Amundson type. We were hoping that Gani would develop into this sort of player, but due to his injury last year he is still a bit of an unknown quantity and can't be guaranteed (even though we have since seen flashes in the Polish league).

There was no other standout candidate for our 14th pick that addressed a position of need (SG, C) so we went with the next best thing - the theory now being that either Lawal OR Morris will develop into this kind of player. I think the expression is hedging our bets?

Certainly a safe pick in my book - if we can come out of a weak draft with an Amundson with shooting ability, then I'd take that any day of the week.

Frye has shown he can start alongside Gortat OR play in the second unit with an Amundson type, so we should be right starting Frye or if we acquire a PF and bench Frye.

I thought Lou was traded because of the whole Steve Nash wife thing? Or was that rumor debunked?

We've traded away how many players because of Steve Nash's wife? Lou, Barbosa, Dragic, Richardson...
