Heart and Soul of the Suns

Back in the 90's we had a super-star and all-star ... Barkley and KJ. But I think the heart and soul of that team was Majerle. He was the glue guy for the Suns and we traded him away for "Hot Rod" Williams. It was all downhill after that.
Whose the glue guy for the Suns? The guy we shouldn't trade because it will screw up the team chemistry? My vote is Dudley.

i don't think there is anyone like that on this current roster. that was one of the main reasons why we had a season like we did last season.... no chemistry

Without a doubt Dudley. Versitile defender, good shooter and great lockeroom/intangables guy. Don't get me wrong he's no Dan Majerle but he fits that role better than anyone else on our roster currently.
Not to mention we have him locked into a very reasonable long term contract as well. And Dudley is the type of guy that even if he's playing very well, if the Suns brought in another starting SG he would have no problem coming off the bench without issue giving you a perfect 6th man.
Great guy to have.

Add another vote for Dudley here. Seemingly loved by the team and all of the fans. An entertaining guy that also adds a lot to the team with his defense, hustle and big time treys.

Yep notch another one for Dud! The guy is just pure heart, hustle, 100% effort. You can't NOT love this guy. Richardson's gone, but we signed this guy long term. Think about that!
He's the perfect utility wing, he can guard anywhere from 1-4, he can shoot, he can post, he's got it all.
Obviously he's not the best at anything, but jack of all trades master of none. He's no Marjele, but he's the best we got, and he sure as hell ain't bad.

His name is Lou, and we didn't trade him, we simply let him walk so we could sign the crazy glue called Warrick, well minus the glue.

I have to vote for Duds, too. he's the guy who hits the deck for loose balls and does all the little things that keep a team pumped. Hill is very important too, I think - he's the conscience of the team, the definition of how to play with class, dignity and commitment.

Dudley. Easily.
Though if we lost Nash this team would feel it more - but perhaps that's more of a pure performance perspective as opposed to heart/hustle.
And of course as I typed that I can't think of anyone over the last decade that was more "heart" for the Suns than Nash.

I have som many pics of Nash covered in blood .... him trying to get his nose to stop bleeding, and to keep the ref from seeing it, will by in my head forever

Epic moments. Nash is the heart and soul. No doubts. Duds is a fan fav, deservedly. TheGORTAT closely following. We have some real decent fellows on this team.

Will never forget Nash going pirate mode on the Spurs. He was a one-eyed cutthroat and murdered them in fourth quarter. I'm not sure there is a tougher player in the league.
