Carter buy-out

I hope this means they're going to use this $$$ to bring in someone else, even just a stop-gap for one-year. Say what you will about Carter, he had some big games last year, and his 15 points have to come from somewhere.

Nash-Dudley-Hill-West-Gortat
Dowdell-Brown-CHilly-Frye

First off bringing David west in here would be very stupid first he just came back from a knee injury and second are we trying to make our draft pick for 2012 not be in the top 10.

Oh I'm sorry i forgot we had the best medical training staff in the league and that Grant Hill just resigned with us....
let's just forget about giving it 1 last go with them and try to win them a ring.
With Grant signing on again it looks like we're going to make 1 final push for him and Nash.
West could be the missing piece, and we could offer him a 1 year deal.
Just sayin'

You think he would take a one year deal?
You think we have the $$ to pay him?

I think the people asking for David West haven't watched him play. You want a purely elbow shooting PF that doesn't finish at the rim or rebound? We have one of those on a bargain deal...

Again, I agree.
West is solid and all(though apparently overrated by some of you) but he just had a major knee injury/surgery. Who knows what he will be like afterwards. I don't see how that makes us a contender in the west.

I heard the Raptors might use their amnesty on Andrea Bargnani

Sorry if i am not a salary-cap-ologist. I figured since VC's contract is massive it would free up enough room to sign West. Can someone explain further as to exactly how much $$$ the team would have to sign someone after the VC buyout? (instead of just trolling)
And if we can't afford West then how the do we afford Bargnani?

If Bargs is waived, he could be much cheaper than West because he will be mainly paid by TOR. But unless we are under the cap, we won't be able to grab Bargs. I think we still have the Amare TPE of $5.7 million, which should be over, but because of the lockout, I think it was extended. But that will only work in a trade, and doesn't help us get West.
But Landry might be cheaper.

i don't understand peoples thinking when it comes to acquiring Bargnani... why do we need him? we have the same player in Frye who is becoming a better overall player.... his defense and post game is coming along
